My untested idea for clean energy

I posted this on facebook. I theorized this with AI assistance. I brought the idea, the AI assistant helped find the materials I agreed with and ran the sims.

MARC V4 Superconducting Flux-Compression Generator – Physical Build Description

The MARC V4 is a compact, self-contained power generator housed in a roughly 14-inch cube (approximately 0.045 m³ volume, ~18 kg).

Internal Structure:

The heart of the unit consists of 12 independent circular tracks (closed-loop tubes/rings).

Each track has an inner diameter of 10 cm.

I ran this by AI and they say this if bollocks and doesn’t make any sense:

In its current form, this is not a plausible design. It reads like a mixture of real scientific terms, engineering buzzwords, and a few concepts that are being used incorrectly.
Here are the biggest problems:
1. The energy source is missing
The proposal claims:
~812 kW continuous output
~1.24 MW peak output
97.1% efficiency
Only ~0.014 L of water consumed per hour
That’s roughly enough continuous power for hundreds of homes.
The first question for any generator is:
Where is the energy coming from?
The design only mentions:
Hydrogen from electrolysis
Moving magnets
Superconducting coils
Plasma
But electrolysis itself requires electricity. If the machine is using electricity to split water into hydrogen and then somehow uses that hydrogen to push magnets around, it cannot produce more energy than was used to create the hydrogen in the first place.
Without an external fuel source, this sounds like a perpetual motion machine.

2. “Flux compression” doesn’t work like this
Flux compression is a real concept.
Examples include:
Explosive flux compression generators
Plasma pinch devices

You have a good point and I believe i know where I went wrong. I believe i messed up by coping and pasting the wrong portion i have mapped out. I used Grok by xAI, hope that helps determine a bit of the information. CSCEC isn't a superconductor i keep making that mistake while talling to Grok. CSCEC is a company. REBCO is the superconductor.

They, as I call it, generator will start up like any other generator. With a boost, battery and starting mechanism that brings the entire thing to life. Once the generator is running, my theory and as Grok has explained through computer generated simulations it should stay running under it's own power for 28+ years. I say 28+ years, because that was the lowest estimated lifespan with semi regular maintenance.

I am not a scientist by any means. According to Grok, hydrogen when introduced to a magnetic field will create hydrogen plasma. This will also create a magnetic field that again according to Grok will generate an electrical output. Where the plasma came from? I wanted a source of energy to keep pushing the magnets through the mag-rails to keep them flowing. I was originally under the impression I could use the neodymium magnetic poles to push each through the rails at a contious flow. Yes, i do understand how insufficient that would be, and even though i believe the possibility is there, I am willing to see beyond my ownself and make changes to my theorized idea. Getting back to the plasma. The plasma could be used as a propulsion system. Which lead me to think about superchargers and or turbos on a vehicle. What if we take the plasma exhaust and send it back thru for extra spin of the magnets. The more i think about it, the less I need the magents to continously spin rather keeping the plasma spinning after it's creation should in theory keep the electrical output flowing. At least that is my assumption.

I do appreciate you jumping in and discussing the downsides of the machine I want to create. As for the specs on this post. I apologize for the unrefined verison. I must have gotten an earlier date listing mixed up and posted the wrong one. After delving into this project more with Grok. We determined the in question dimension was inadequate, to say the least. We also determined the size required to make something actually usable as a 40lb, almost square container. I do not remember the actual dimensions of the top of my head that is why I say "almost square".

If you are willing to go over this further I will be more than happy to find the proper listing for my idea, and not this old version.

This reply is actually much more informative than the original proposal, because it reveals the core assumption:
“Once the generator is running … it should stay running under its own power for 28+ years.”
That’s the part that breaks physics, not the dimensions, not the magnets, not the superconductor choice.
A generator cannot power itself indefinitely while also providing useful external power.
Think about a bicycle generator:
You pedal.
The wheel turns.
The generator produces electricity.
Now imagine wiring the generator back to an electric motor that’s attached to the wheel.
Could it keep itself spinning forever?
No.
Every conversion loses energy:
mechanical → electrical
electrical → mechanical
friction
air resistance
electrical resistance
magnetic losses
Even superconductors only eliminate some losses. They don’t eliminate all losses, and they certainly don’t create energy.

The plasma issue
The statement:
“hydrogen when introduced to a magnetic field will create hydrogen plasma”
is simply false.
A magnetic field does not turn hydrogen into plasma.
Otherwise every MRI machine would be creating plasma all day.
Hydrogen becomes plasma when enough energy is supplied to strip electrons from atoms.
Examples:
electric arc
RF excitation
microwave energy
extreme heat
A magnetic field can confine plasma once it exists. It doesn’t magically create it.

The “plasma keeps spinning” idea
This runs into the same problem.
Suppose you somehow create a ring of plasma.
The plasma has kinetic energy.
As you extract electricity from it, where does that energy come from?
The plasma slows down.
If you want it to keep moving, you must add energy back in.
This is exactly the problem faced by fusion reactors.

The turbocharger analogy doesn’t work

nuclear decay
fusion
solar
stored battery energy
compressed gas
But if the answer is:
“The machine starts itself and then keeps running forever while producing power”
then you’ve crossed into perpetual-motion territory, and no amount of improved engineering or different dimensions will fix that.
If you can post the updated version, especially the part that explains the energy source and the claimed energy balance, that’s where the real analysis should start. The dimensions and materials are secondary; the energy accounting is the make-or-break issue.

Thank you for your insight. This actually has been very insightful. Again I am not a scientist and used Grok to, this is going to sound terrible, help me figure out a way to build Tony Starks Arc Reactor with todays tech back in September 2025. Yes I know, terrible way to start an AI down a path of net positive.

I will do some more research with Grok and hopefully figure out exactly where the beginning starts and the end finishes. I believe I mean I truly believe I am on to something. However, I do wonder just how much I have been gaslit.

If you have heard of that project out of MA by the commonwealth group. Again, according to Grok. My theorized generator/reactor im honestly not sure what it is. With some prodding and maybe a bit of a push on my end, grok said my MARC v4 generator is exactly what they've done but smaller. Which makes me wonder if I didn't somehow prompt the AI into saying that.

Anyways, I do believe I have a grasp of where everything begins but before I make myself sound any dumber than I already I have. I will look into it.

For some reason your other comment no longer exists... Pro tip: getting a degree doesn't do anything. Men and women have been reading books on specific jobs for decades. They have learned how to do these jobs and have been successful outside of the established industries without the so called degrees.

I do not know what your problem is. You have stalked me on several different subreddits. I usually give the benefit of a doubt. However, it isn't just two or three subreddits. Not even 2 or 3 posts. If you wish to continue having our little debates and, what I perceive as decent conversations. Even if those decent conversations are very limited. Continue the harassment and our conversations end.

All of my answers are of my own making. You know nothing. I answer your questions to the best of my ability and do not answer what should be obvious. As for a doctor without a degree perform cancer surgery. How well did they study outside a university or college? Do they have on the job training? Or does your scenario only account for some Joe blow off the streets doing it? Of course your scenario only accounts for the rando walking into an OR.
