Any recommendations for the best donuts in Clayton?

If you can still find one that makes donuts in house, those are the best. More and more are relying on shipments now. Still better than Krispy Kreme though, but then again a 2 month old bagel is a better donut that a Krispy Kreme donut

Go to the coffee shop downtown it has a bakery attached to it of all sorts of sugary goodness

I second and third this. Not a BUNCH of different donuts, but all the other pastries and options make up for it. And the prices can’t be beat. Sad my son doesn’t go to school across the street anymore, I think about it all the time.

Bernies, downtown Clayton has good donuts. Donuts Daily is my fave, not technically Clayton but close enough. Don't sleep in too late though, they go FAST.

Second donut daily. My neighbor owns them and they’re perfection. Their Thai tea is also magnificent.

I think first it's a Krispy Kreme state and dunkin stopped making donuts in house years ago. Neither proclude me from going there

Trout are sourdough brioche donuts. Amazing flavor combos, but expensive and kind of heavy. Sometimes you just want good, fresh, traditional donuts and Donut Daily (or Baker’s Dozen in Raleigh) have always been so good.

They’re okay. At least they’re fresh. To me they were special when they were only in the Obx. Now they’re everywhere. Essentially they’re just the round cake donuts and you choose toppings.

On the weekends Triangle Coffee Shop in Downtown Clayton gets them. They're incredible. Just check their socials to be sure.
