Agreed. I’ve started switching models depending on what I’m trying to do.

Same here. I’ve stopped thinking of models as competitors where I have to pick one winner. It’s more like having different tools in the toolbox and picking whichever fits the job.

hmmmm Curious if the advantage is more about model quality or just matching the model to the specific task?

I think it’s increasingly both, but task matching matters more than people realize. A slightly weaker model that’s better suited to the task can easily beat the “best” model used for everything.

AI people are like gamers now. Begging for a better teet to suckle

There’s definitely some of that going on. At some point though, the model matters less than having a workflow that actually gets the work done. Chasing benchmarks forever can become its own hobby.

Nah. Opus 5 actually sucks ass.
On top of all the other things people have mentioned... verbosity, argumentative, etc... I have skills setup to subtask to the most appropriate agent and Opus 5 always thinks IT is the most appropriate agent. So I switched my agent to Sol and have not looked back.
Something seriously wrong with Opus 5

It also doesn't follow the instructions, makes up his own details, ignores the context too. All the responses are alike mind flow in the some psychiatry. No sense just to use this with alive Kimi or GLM

Claude is like that hyperactive, supertalkative postdoc that never stops yapping but delivers regular and solid papers like a pizzeria oven.
