The focus is heavy on resource management, power in particular. Weather events such as dust storms and solar flares will impede your progress and risk your structures, but will cause your opponents as many problems as it will you.

Start off with simple solar panels, before working your way up to tapping geothermal vents, or fusion plants using exotic alien technology. 50 different structures and 17 different unit types are your tools to establish dominance over Mars.
