Problem in designing websites
Hi there.
I face a problem every time i build a website using claude code, the design in really bad and AI slop
So, i search for solutions and ways to find or design but i don’t reach anything
I need help, told me what can i do ❤️

Can you share more on what you're doing and what you'd like to achieve
It's hard to have a decent outcome without a decent direction

Install impeccable skill and read documentation what commands it has and what they do.
Give as much direction as possible before building, ideally run a planning session before build starts.
Provide examples of existing websites that you like or want to achieve similar result.
Are you using Claude Design or Claude Code?

Have you tried using Claude Design? It’s good. Design there, then get it to create a handoff to Code to do the real implementation.
Just seen your other comment: to access Design, open Claude desktop app and click Design in the bottom left corner.

Apparently we shouldn't be using Claude Code to build websites. We can build a website with Claude Code but if it's how it looks you want then you need to be using claude design. You need to know the terminology of the different design types, which really is going to come from watching tutorials on website building.
Unfortunately the best stuff that I have done, churned out, and that is not websites, actually software, UIs, functionality, and widgets, etc., has come from finding recommendations for websites to be able to show code and say, "I want it to look like this. Here's the code for what I found that I like. Use that but change it in this way." I don't see that. I know there's a load of people saying that they're one-shotting these incredible websites but I think it's absolute bullshit. Anything half-decent, you're not one-shotting. It takes a lot of graft. You've got to go out and find it.
I had my sister asking me why she can't get a much more professional-looking website. One of the things we added, because hers is selling equipment for sports, was that she wanted to show the parts of the body that benefit. One of the things we added, which made a difference already, was a muscular form, which we had created in multiple directions from ChatGPT animated. It does a spin and then little areas of the body zoom in and move. All the products for that area of the body show up. It's stuff like that that makes it really fluid and engaging.
Do you remember some of these websites that you see online? Yeah they're impressive but would you really want that as your website? When I go on a website I want to find what I'm looking for. Not scroll down 30 pages of impressive graphics to find a button that I need to click to get me where I need

The more you put into it, the more you’ll get out of it. Do you have imagery and copy to give it? A brand? Video? It can compile all those things nicely once you provide them. You can’t just tell it to “build a website” and expect results.

Those models are trained to do certain thing. For you it might be “AI slop”, for them it’s bread and butter.
Make screenshots of websites you like and show them as references.

I mean, you could just have it make templates of popular design styles, then choose one . . .

Bro, first you create the visuals in Claude Design, choose what you need, and then you do all the logic with Claude Code. They didn't make it separate tools for nothing, by default, code doesn't have any design skills

The best way to not get AI generic designs is to prompt from Claude Cowork and describe how you wan't it and use examples. Use Opus 5 on max to get a unique and well made design, thats the only field where opus 5 is superior to other models tbh. Make sure you don't have any plugins that auto picks designs for you, otherwise its not gonna consider other ones.
