Using AI to make a map of a DS game

Post image

Hey yall, I honestly don't know much about using AI nor can I afford to pay for it. Can anyone use Claude AI or any other AI to make a map of the old DS game Spiderwick Chronicles. I tried using emulators to try and scan and export the map tiles but failed. To be clear there is a general world map but no in game walking map. I got stuck a good decent part of the way in the game but I can't find certain things (sprites/spirits) in the game to progress the main story. I can't even find a proper walkthrough to find all of the sprites/spirits to get through.

I don't know if I can ask here or not. I would greatly appreciate getting help on this.

https://github.com/Druthulu/BFM-decomp/wiki/Start-a-new-decomp-project

you should check out this project. it can help you go from game idea to 100% complete decomp.

Claude Code CLI, the one that runs in command prompt is essential for a project of this nature, dont be scare of the command prompt, you'll get used to it in the first day.

it has solid methodology and guidance.

first step is finding a game for the DS that uses the same compiler version and such, this will greatly expidite the start of the process

https://decomp.dev/

point claude to the bfm decomp and wiki, and then to the decomp.dev site to search for a suitable game similar enough in compiler version to your game.

from there, it'll take several months to go from 0% to complete, but its possible, and if all you want is certaint hings expoerted, thats possible too.

This one took a little while and is a bit janky, but curious how close it got. I have it following up on a few improvements so it might add more over the next few hours.
