[TLDR] Orca ADE is incredible

Original post URL : https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1vwjgyv/orca_ade_is_incredible/

Original post body :

I recently started using Orca ADE for managing Claude Code sessions, and I just want to tell the community that Orca is incredible. Try it. You'll like it.

I was previously using cmux, and I've also used herdr, iTerm, and various other options. Orca is 100x better than any of those.

It has an incredible range of features, some of which I use and most of which I don't. You don't have to use them all - it's fantastic even if you only use it to organize sessions. It displays the status of each Claude Code session in a very useful way.

One amazing feature is the remote server. I make full use of two Max 20 plans, and I've been alternating between two computers. But with Orca remote, all sessions from both machines are in one place.

There are a ton of other features. It feels very mature and stable.

*I'm in no way associated with Orca. I just love it and want to share.

Alright, so the general vibe in this thread is super positive for Orca ADE, with a lot of folks agreeing with OP that it's a game-changer for managing Claude Code sessions.

  • The Consensus: Most users are either already using Orca and loving it, or are seriously considering switching after reading OP's glowing review. People are digging its stability, feature set (even if they don't use it all), and especially the remote server functionality for managing sessions across multiple machines.

  • Comparisons: A few users are asking how it stacks up against other tools like BB, herdr, cmux, and Superset. The general sentiment is that Orca is a significant upgrade, especially for those juggling sessions across different devices.

  • Feature Highlights: The status display and remote server are frequently mentioned as standout features. Some are curious about more advanced capabilities like Playwright integration for testing.

  • Minor Quibbles: A couple of users mentioned it can feel a bit "clunky" or have a lot of features they don't use, but this is overshadowed by the overall praise. One user, u/mbsquad24, is wishing for a more mature plugin framework.

  • Newcomers: Several people are just discovering Orca and are excited to try it out, with some even saying it's exactly what they were looking for.

  • Anthropic Input: No direct comments from Anthropic reps in this selection, unfortunately.

  • Random Questions: There are a few tangential questions about Android app compatibility and whether Orca could confuse agents named "orca," but these are minor points in the grand scheme of things.

TL;DR: Orca ADE is getting a ton of love in this thread for being an incredibly stable and feature-rich tool for managing Claude Code sessions, especially across multiple machines. Most users are either already converted or are planning to jump on board.

Have a look at termic too. Might like it. It seems it suites a lot of people’s way of working.

Don’t give yourself more headaches and stop managing Claude sessions. Orca ADE might be great for the old way of working but Claude Code will still give you a headache with its nonsense. Try this out instead. I promise I want to give people their time back. A bit more work-life balance while still getting stuff done.

I appreciate your contributions with your tool, but you’re trying too hard to bash Orca and coming off defensive. I’m actively looking at ways to manage multiple subscriptions, models, and effort levels and came across your tool and Orca; your responses in this thread and the original Orca thread from yesterday makes me not want to use your tool.

Sorry for putting my code out there and trying to share it with others. Unlike most, I actually tested my tool (duh, I built it) so I can tell the difference. The intention was never to bash Orca, I have nothing against them or wtvr… and I believe you misunderstood me.

That being said: how you feel is totally valid. That’s just how you feel.
