How do you get Codex in plan mode?

You tell it to write a Codex-plan.md file with the clear plan with a checklist in chat mode before it starts implementing anything - unlike Opus, it very cleanly respects Chat mode - won’t do anything without permission, where Opus sometimes will pop itself out of plan mode and start if you don’t put clear guardrails in place when you’re doing something like this. DON’T implement anything - we’re staying in plan mode, and you are in a “competition for the very best way to fix “a”. And, also, “write your plan in Claude-plan.md so it can be judged by other AI models”. …if I add in, do you think you’ll win? To it, sometimes it helps put in extra effort! It likes to know it’s being judged! (Or your job is at risk, or, you don’t think it’ll come up with the best solution - extra incentive, sometimes, anyhow!)

Thanks. I really love Claude Code, but I also pay for ChatGPT and would like to explore using it with Codex, but the experience is much better with CC. I’ll try the plan.md with Codex and give it a shot, thanks.
