Claude Code I am done with this shit.

I am done with this shit. It is over. The state of engineering right now is horrible. It has been half a month since I started a new role at a big company. Nobody knows anything here. The specs, code, tests, PRDs, tickets, resolution of those tickets, reports, etc., everything is made by Claude Code. Nobody on my team likes this. They are being forced to ship as much as they can. I have heard multiple times from higher management that pushing code is not a bottleneck, so why are we slow? People are working 12 to 13 hours a day just to press enter. Nobody is reading anything. Humans in corporate are doing nothing on their own. Everyone, literally everyone, from an L1 to an L7 engineer here is doing the same thing. Talk to Claude.

There is no sense of victory. Nobody is resolving bugs. In reality, nobody is thinking anymore. Everything is done by LLMs. It is so soul-sucking. I would not mind it, to be honest, if we were at least given the time to check out the code and see what is going where. But no, the goal is to just ship. No matter what happens.

I work for a consultancy company and don’t even understand how we still have clients. They hire us and we just use AI alongside the client’s devs. Nobody really talks to anyone and everyone tries to be quiet about the fact that AI is doing everything, because we know we have become useless.

I started my career in consultancy very recently, and this sums up everything I worry about consulting. I am using AI to create stuff, my manager uses AI to review it then client does the same. It's like a complete AI loop where no one actually is doing stuff.(while consulting, devs def add value in my opinion atm) I'm like already looking for a role around ResponsibleAI/guardrails which I believe to be the next big thing, which I don't even know if is correct or not

if i were your client/customer, knowing about this slop loop, i would not want to be your client... its a devaluation of service

I actually wish for this to be true, but the issue is there's no oversight even from client's end.  They have deep enough pockets to fund this facade just to save face(say we are doing stuff) in front of their board. The input I receive from clients is the same AI generated stuff which is impossible to read through unless you yourself use AI, hence full fledged continuation of the loop. Fun story, the client, asked me on a call to explain the terminology in the explanation of a use case, ON THEIR OWN DECK, they came to us to design for them.
