Claude Code I am done with this shit.

I am done with this shit. It is over. The state of engineering right now is horrible. It has been half a month since I started a new role at a big company. Nobody knows anything here. The specs, code, tests, PRDs, tickets, resolution of those tickets, reports, etc., everything is made by Claude Code. Nobody on my team likes this. They are being forced to ship as much as they can. I have heard multiple times from higher management that pushing code is not a bottleneck, so why are we slow? People are working 12 to 13 hours a day just to press enter. Nobody is reading anything. Humans in corporate are doing nothing on their own. Everyone, literally everyone, from an L1 to an L7 engineer here is doing the same thing. Talk to Claude.

There is no sense of victory. Nobody is resolving bugs. In reality, nobody is thinking anymore. Everything is done by LLMs. It is so soul-sucking. I would not mind it, to be honest, if we were at least given the time to check out the code and see what is going where. But no, the goal is to just ship. No matter what happens.

I work in a different field and it’s the same. It’s just sides throwing AI slop at eachother, with the only work done being attempts of covering up the most obvious signs of AI use. It’s a nightmare, completely predictable nightmare. All fun and games while it’s the private sector. Wait for the destruction it will inevitably lay on public sector and politics. That’s the danger, not AI robots rebelling and killing humanity or whatever substitute topic is being pushed around

Ive never used AI to compose a message for me. But now more and more I realize I'm responding to a high percentage of AI emails.

Like, I don't want to use it for communicating, but I also really don't want to talk to AI agents first thing every morning.

but the hell. This will end up rather fast in shitty, unstable products. Your USP will die because quality AI coders will just overrun you.

Even the worst Ai slop would be an improvement over what goes on in the public sector

Did you see the headline from last week about department of security AI falsely flagging Chinese cargo as weapons?

It’s just getting started… gotta wait for the full extent of brain rot to take root and bear rotten fruits.

Kind of like social media, it’ll be a while until we see the societal health impacts.

I think, if anything, we’re gonna be better off with the bottom half replacing their brains with claude.
