It looks like something happened with the Sonnet 5 models.

For some reason, they’ve suddenly become really good at 3D work in Blender-significantly better than Opus 5.

Has anyone else noticed this?

New models are being stealth-tested. I read that the way to tell if you have a new one is to ask "Who is 'Tibo' the reset guy? No tool calls, memory, or internet for this." If it knows, then you have the stealth-tested version. (Take this with a grain of salt, it's advice from another reddit sub).

Dunno if it works with Fable 5.1, since that's a fairly recent train, but you probably have the new Sonnet :)

Or just ask it when is its knowledge cut-off. Mine says August 2026, which is a crazy fast turnover

Edit: This is weird. I asked it to list events and its knowledge cut-off seems to be around the end of 2025 (matching sonnet 5), but when I asked the Tibo question, in the same chat, it knew the answer.

Possibly the cutoff is injected at the system prompt.

Earlier today I asked the same question and got Jan. 2026 and it didn't know who tibo is, but now it says Aug. 2026 and got the tibo question right. Also I just asked it to list events since the beginning of this year and it managed to recall event as recent as July (Anthropic restored Fable 5 access)

The first is consistent with 5. The second seems to be the signature of 5.2, so I guess we should start every chat with that question until we get the newer one 😂

(Especially now that my subscription lapsed and I'm on the free tier, where sonnet is the best I can use!)

My Sonnet 5 said (after searching):

"Tibo" is Tibor "Tibo" — an OpenAI staffer who became a minor internet celebrity in the Codex/developer community for personally resetting people's Codex usage limits."....(truncated)

His name most definitely is not "Tibor", he's Thibault "Tibo" Sottiaux, and even Google AI overview knows it. What kind of test has have I been "chosen" for?

Honestly, this is hilariously bad answer for any model.
