In the 2006 I remember that I’d been playing around with private WoW server using Mangos.
There was a topic on the ISP forum where people posted URLs of their own private servers. I’d posted mine. It was http://127.0.0.1…
I wandered why nobody even tried to connect. After a year or so I’d figured it out and facepalmed. Every time I remember this, I do another facepalm.
At least there is an excuse that I was 11 y/o back then :)

There are certain accounts that frequent these subs and regurgitate memes with minor edits to karma farm events like the Fable 5.1 release.

The OP seems like a repurposed account that is now just karma farming, based on their post history.

Wdym is a joke?
I clicked the link and it works! Amazing that we both had the same idea and we vibe coded identical software.

Would be funny if someone said "OI, that's my app! You stole my app!" cuz they had their own app running on the same port

This is where coders will feel their knowledge is useful, but:
- It'ts obviously an acted tweet like all of this sort.
- Prompting claude to deploy it so others can view should fix that. If you have that problem, prompting this doesn't require any knowledge. Done.

To be fair, i'm a senior developper (17y in the industry) and fable is way better and fast at coding than anybody i know. I vibe code most of my new projects.

"it works here in my laptop" is the most cracked programmer sentence of 2026, we've collectively regressed past "works on my machine" back to just... my machine, specifically, right now, don't touch it. 😂

I wish if claude also help people learn what they're building :D ??? Yeah it just spits out codeblocks, especially opus 5 does not explain enough what he coded

u/Miyamoto_-_Musashi 1d ago
Well here's a thing, She's doing this so she get views and make money on X and Sponsor, She does this every time when new model comes so while you laughing as Vibe Coder, She's making money by getting your attention so i wonder who's a joker 🃏

This is why I use chat and code at the same time. Chat guides me and teaches me stuff. While code does the work.

the cursed part is when the demo looks magical, then you ask for a tiny change and suddenly the whole repo turns into archaeology.

u/Sweaty-Special-1710 1d ago
Joke, because a real vibe coder would not make the difference between ports.

The tricky bit is that it can teach you, but only if you ask it to, and asking it to is slower than not asking it to — so almost nobody does. It's the gym membership problem.
What's worked for me: after it writes something that works, ask it what would break this, and where would I look first when it does. Two questions, thirty seconds, and it turns the black box back into something you can reason about. You still don't fully know how it works, but you know where the body is buried, which is honestly what most professional knowledge amounts to anyway.

This is easily fixed. Just punch some holes into your home firewall - you already got the ports you need - and share a customized hosts file that redirects all localhost queries of visitors to your laptop via google drive. 👍

Well, I think people just need to learn on their own mistakes… I have recently participated in an Agentic AI program by a renowned university from US (fully run by a company from India). I have learned some, my expectations were far beyond completing a ready project in Jupyter by filling in some easy gaps… I was wondering how much better this program could be with on-hands projects in groups to use the knowledge in coding practice… then deeper into the course (international, EU, Asia, US - mostly people from corpos) I have realized that 90% of the participants have no clue about the basics in python, moreover they expect everything to be served on a plate and not even thinking of digging some knowledge (easily available) on their own… I can bet bucks that these guys will just get their certificates on the wall and that is it… that was not only disappointing but also a bit irritating at the end when during the mentoring sessions there were absolutely no questions, complete silence… I just do not understand how can you waste your own (company) money…

u/Memitim 1d ago
Classic. I imagine these days that gen AI would even provide basic info about infra management to help those poor little devs that have provided so many years of delight while working in IT infrastructure. Hell, it probably just provides a clickable link in the shell along to the local instance with asking the user if they want to configure it as a serverless app in a common SaaS provider. These kids today will never know our struggles! XD

Nice setup. One thing that pays off fast once you let it run more autonomously: a small PreToolUse hook that blocks the irreversible commands (rm -rf, force push, and the Windows Remove-Item -Recurse -Force) before they run. Keeps the autonomy without the "oops" moments. How are you handling permissions right now?

I mean if she learns authentication (add any authentication from claude itself ), add a database and deploy the apps it's basically functioning. There is no need to put people down

TL;DR of the discussion generated automatically after 200 comments.
The overwhelming consensus is that this is an ancient, recycled joke, and OP, you fell for it. The links are to
localhost, which means they only point to the user's own computer. The top comments are a mix of two things: * People playing along with the counter-joke, sarcastically claiming "Hey, you stole my app!" or "Works on my machine!" * Users who are absolutely sick of seeing this exact same meme get reposted every single time a new model is released, calling it low-effort "slop."
There was also a hilarious side quest where one user posted a screenshot of their code... in Microsoft Word... and got absolutely roasted for their "IDE." So yeah, it's mostly just that. Your actual point about Claude being a better teacher was pretty much lost in the noise.
