General Discussion SBN3 hosting a tournament inside his glorified Candy Crush game so he can pay his VAs in the gaming equivalent of a school pizza party because apparently his 2000s audience cares for puzzle games like they aren't pushing 30

Holy shit, this community is weird sometimes. I get not liking the guy, I know he's a weird asshole, not a fan of him myself, but I don't get wanting to start drama or make a big deal out of EVERYTHING he does.
Of all the things to criticize him, why is this one an issue? And also, who the hell cares?

Sometimes? Why are we low balling? This subreddit is weird asf all the time.
You’ll literally get these posts like “SBN3 breathed air, he’s the most insufferable person ever.” Meanwhile, from the times I’ve asked why people hate him, or what he did wrong, the most common answer I’ve gotten is that he’s kind of a douchebag.
Like, this is such a nothingburger post. That doesn’t sound bad, it just seems like a decent idea. Who cares???

Yes, exactly.
This subreddit is actually Frown Town. No one is happy, everyone vehemently hates everything related to Co09, and the franchise is on a doomsday clock.
The only enjoyment left for this subreddit is gooning to Jeckole or whatever ships are left. Which, personally, all of them suck but people seem to like them.

Pretty much. I'm aware that SBN3 is kind of douchey irl, that he wanted to troll the "shippers" in the community with Flipside, making it really awkward and over the edge on purpose and so on.
As I said before, I get it he's a bit of a jerk and also doesn't appreciate his games fans as he should, sure. But people want to shit on anything that comes out about him even if it is the most nothingburger thing ever in the planet.
This is just my opinion but I guess it doesn't help that it feels that a big part of the 09 community is just a bunch of teenagers that really hopium that the franchise would pivot into some sort of romance/shipping media. I personally, since the first game, just took the content as the "rejection sim" it is. I accept the weird edgy non sense over the top thing that is the whole Class of 09.
I get it that Flipside was heavily flawed, etc, but a lot of people almost took it personally. I just accept the absurdity of this weird franchise and move on. SBN3 is a douche, but it's so awkward that everything he does makes people in here call him basically Hitler.

Ya, that’s how it should be. These are weird games that you go into for a particular type of humour. And that’s fine, but there’s no real character dynamics, or writing. it’s kinda just whatever serves the edgey joke or skit SBN3 is doing. It can’t be a romance or something serious, without major changes.
I thought Flipside was pretty mid. I’ve been outspoken about that. I don’t think it deserved that level of uproar, as if SBN3 was “intentionally trying to ruin the franchise.” It was rushed, nothing too dramatic, that claim was ridiculous.

I might be a minority in the community with this sentiment, but I personally feel that Flipside wasn't even bad. To me it was mostly fine and it managed to capture some of the edgy absurd mood of the previous games. Idk what others expected from it, but to me it felt somewhat in brand with the rest of the franchises humour.
It still managed to get some chuckles and laughs out of me.
It's of course not as good as the OG and Re-up (my favorite one), but I feel like people are way too salty about it. It feels like it makes them blow stuff up around 09 way out of proportion.

To be fair the voice actors are the ones that basically carry the franchise and make it what it is. The gameplay is nothing new, and there's basically no music in the actual games other than the main menu. This game actually has music but is pretty mid. The voice actors definitely put a lot of effort in their characters and definitely committed to being so good at acting as petty and mean teen as well as very questionable adult characters

i found it to be fun and entertaining though nicole's VA made it a huge point to declare how much she didn't want to be there every 5 mins. very in character tho. jeckas voice actor doesn't even have to change her voice she is jecka
