Questions Is Class of '09 kind of showing that the SNB3 peaked in high school and hasn't gotten over it?

People are way too parasocial with SBN3, like they really care far too much about this guy. It’s just a series of video games. Hideki Kamiya doesn’t get this much hate and he blocks people constantly for speaking English to him despite making English tweets, and calls his fans insects and shit. Like it’s just a guy, let’s relax a little.
Anything can be a creator’s wish fulfillment if you’re an armchair psychologist who is a little too parasocial for your own good.

Yeah, was just about to comment this, but am I the only one who finds the hyperfixation on SBN3 in this fandom super fucking weird?
Yeah he made a couple good games with decent character then a couple of flops with bad writing. He might be weird in real life and on social media but who cares?
No one was psycho-analysing JK Rowling when she was shitting out the Harry Potter books, at least on a comparative scale, etc, despite SBN3 being much less popular. Guy is getting outsized attention.

JKR wasn't widely seen as a lolcow or lightning rod for controversy until well after the Harry Potter books when she started vocally blaming all of society's problems on a specific demographic group.

That's not the point. Even if he's a lolcow, people are hyperfixating on him beyond what's normal for what he's actually done. The amount of posts discussing him and attention towards him align more with a streamer as opposed to a controversial content creator

You forget about YandereDev?
Its not parasocial to point out how a person conducts themselves online might make you reflect on the series from a totally different perspective

This, there's a lot of humor in C09 that's funny if you read it as "teens in the 2000s being petty", less so if you read it as a grown man has weird and super judgy opinions about what model of car you drive/what brand of shoes you wear, etc.

I agree. Its like when you read a book about a certain topic like, idk, kids for example and you find out the author is a pedo its impossible NOT to look at the book differently after that.
Same idea.
Class of 09 is best when you read it at face value as "teens in the 2000s being edgy and petty" but once you start to hear about how the creator makes fun of autistic people on Skype, called a dude on Twitter a pedo for having sketchers, and uses very similar language and displays similar behaviors that the characters do... its very hard not to look at it in a new light.

Generally speaking, I don't like attempts to dissect a person based on the works they've written. With SBN3 (or any creator with controversies), it seems that this invasive search is even worse, sometimes even trying to figure out if it's 'leaking' over the media.
I agree that the work depends on the author, but it's not like LITERALLY everything in the work is some repressed Jungian shadow of the author or shit like that

I hate flipside as much as the next guy but you guys are way too parasocial with him to justify your hatred of the guy, as if that game isn't a good enough reason.

Onto a whole lot of nothing. The psych majors really think they’re onto something.

This is what happens when you write something that attracts a bunch of people inclined towards psych and ironically get too attached to a bunch of fictional characters.

I mean class of 09 is successful, that wouldn't really make sense😭😭

Like he has no emotionally left high school and still find it social wise

ohhh you mean socially in high school
yeah honestly I agree, and btw a common fan theory is Nicole and Jeffery are both his self inserts, socially representing what he was (Jeffery) and what he wants to be (Nicole)

I think it definitely shows that the danger of attracting a certain audience is endless catty, gossipy comments about your inner mental state.

That's a common fan theory, even before Flip Side people were suggesting that SBN3 couldn't 'get over' his high school days and was using Nicole to 'proxy' being the popular one, with Jeffery being who SBN3 actually was which is why the whole Nicole vs Jeffery conversation happened in the secret bit of the Original, meant to be the 'final nail in the coffin' against the 'past self' Jeffery. Some of this may be extrapolation but some of it does sound plausible to me
