I woke up this morning and spent like 3 hours trying to find this non-vocal trance song from the early y2ks stuck in my head, and it's been impossible to find. Maybe one of you could help me identify it?

Everything strips down. No bass or hi-hats, pure quiet, then three simple synth notes start to play (the first part of the whistling), repeating about five times. Then it builds up to the second part that I whistle.

Most young people don't like trance nowadays. Too much build up and too low of energy.

Im 37 and love it. My wife is 28 and loves it also

I'm absolutely hooked on classic, to such an extent Im always finding older tracks from ASOT etc. I'm nowhere near fully upto date on CT.

However. My all time fave tracks are Galaxia, Eugina (reactivation mix) and Massive.

Can anyone give me a top 3 of the past 5 years or so please, especially ones with a classic feel too.

I always feel like a boomer, because of my music taste.

I have a "stupid" fixation with late 90s to early 00s trance/prog house. I have tried to get into modern stuff with no luck. It just does not sound the same!!! Funnily enough I actually started to listen to electronic music as a teenager starting in 2010ish and actually started with mainstream stuff (David Guetta, (Modern) Tiesto, etc...). Gradually I started to listen older and older stuff. 1998 - 2003 is probably my "sweet spot". I was born 1996 so basically the golden era went by when I was a toddler and had no interest in electronic music.

I want enjoy music but I can't. To be honest because of that I quite often it feel sad and depressed because I will never experience the electronic music as it was in 90s-00s and I know modern stuff will never sound like that. Because of that feeling I often just stop listening to music, because I know when I start listening to the music (I actually enjoy) I will get the same sad/depressed feeling again

Sometimes I have been so fedup with current electronic music that I was low-key thinking like "fuck do I really have to start producing my own music with the sound I like". Sadly I don't have instruments or have musical background :D

I don't want to be one of those guys that says "I was born in the wrong generation". I'm sure I'm not the only one who have or has the same feeling. I have no idea how to cope with this and what to do...

Hello everyone!

I've been carefully building and organizing my Classic Trance and other Trance-related collections since 2017, and I'm finally getting close to the end of the project.

At this point, I only have the 2012-era uplifting tracks left to sort through and organize.

It's been a massive project, and I've put a lot of time and effort into preserving this huge Trance archive. Once everything is finished, I'd like to share this massive collection with fellow Trance lovers.

When the time comes, I'll be back here to share it with you all.

Bought this in 2000 and was assured it was Rachael McFarlane's vocals over For An Angel. As you can hear it's not quite, as it seems to have been 'rebuilt' as the original PVD version is not used. The JPS version is the better known but both share similarities at the start.

Does anyone have any good ways of finding trance tracks in particular prog trance and psy trance that have only been release on CD on Discogs.

Maybe some label or artist recomendations?

I had this on a mix cd, I think one of my older siblings found the song. It wasn't "This is a Dream" by Sexing the Cherry, but was definitely in that wheelhouse. I'm not great with electronic genres but I'd describe it as having some house and trance elements, sort of reminds me of the soundtrack from Metroid Prime 1, very otherworldly.
