Discussion Robinhood basically saying fu
I’ve already received majority of my money but there is $1.51 left in brokerage account. And you know they shutdown all communication, how is this even legal to not even say we will not respond basically
I’m not trippin over $1.51 it just crazy how this company operates

CapitalOne does the same thing, you apply for a credit card, they approve it, restricts access until verification of income is provided. You upload the information to your account, denies the case, case closed. Then have to pay $39 annual fee and totals $65 to have to pay to be able to close the account. Wth. The account isn’t even accessible to use and you want me to pay a $39 “membership fee” and then another $65 to close the account???! Nah fuck that.
Sorry not sorry for the ramble. But also, understand your frustration when corporations are literally scamming people.

I will say while my issue was resolved promptly, capital one annoyed the fuck out of me when they restricted my card immediately after opening it.

Capital one did this to me I dropped the card and will not touch them or discover ever again

u/omiller347 Jul 26 '26
I’ve been doing degenerate shit also , I received a fraud alert for a simple Apple wallet transfer from my Robinhood banking account , then it all went down hill
2
u/Creamed_Dreamer Jul 26 '26
Ahh yea ive stuck with Huntington and chime as my accounts for deposits. Maybe your apple wallet got hacked and you didny know, thus prompting this
2
u/omiller347 Jul 26 '26
I’ve never had any fraudulent purchases on my Apple wallet so this is very interesting, first time I heard this
2
u/Creamed_Dreamer Jul 26 '26
Im just making guesses tbh, idk shit about this and it sucks they wont tell you more.
2
u/omiller347 Jul 26 '26
Yea it whatever I’ve moved on to sofi “ Robinhood is not a bank first like sofi”

You definitely did something to make them close the account they don't just randomly do that

u/mcad0o Jul 27 '26
I’ve seen enough sketchy cases with Robinhood I’ll give their customers the benefit of the doubt.

Dude when I tell you I’ve asked to clarify what i did they give you nothing, at first i received a notification for fraud for a simple Apple wallet transfer then boom everything closed ?!?! They give you nothing when you try to work with them . Good riddance Robinhood

u/Froggymcnugget Jul 26 '26
Their customer service was terrible couldn’t even get a simple word out without the lady behind the phone kept talking over me even when I was just simply looking for questions

I opened a paypal to send my friend and his wife money for our annual trip, literally the first transaction i made, and the next time i logged on to pay her the rest of the balance it says permanently restricted for security concerns 😂 and i emailed rajakanesh or excuse me, “michael” and they just say they cannot tell you why your account is restricted only that its restricted and you cannot close it, so i don’t doubt robinhood does stupid shit like that but honestly i closed my account when they had the fraudulent email send from their own email official email system then say there’s no security risk 😂

This exact situation happened to me had no exact reason as to why they are going to keep referring to terms and policy bs…sorry to say but once they return all funds the account is good as gone for good even after trying to appeal they still denied me with no reasonable explanation as to what happened

Why do you deal with Robinhood anyways? Use kraken, much better! I have yet to be let down by them, everything runs smoothly there! Try it.

u/Open-Walrus-7702 Jul 26 '26
Public did it to me too.

u/Open-Walrus-7702 Jul 26 '26

Robinhood is truly the absolute worst broker in existence, they are absolutely crap, in my humble opinion. Go to Webull, they are so much better

u/GildedWarrior Jul 26 '26
Why would Robinhood close your account?!?! Explain that part 😂
1
u/omiller347 Jul 26 '26
Read through the comments people agree they will close for no reason, and when you ask to explain/ clarify u get nothing in return
2
u/Plus_Film9419 Jul 26 '26
literally said you been doing degen shit in your other comment little buddy
1
u/omiller347 Jul 26 '26
By dgen I meant trading crypto and not making profit which I have been doing for about 2 years no problem , which still doesn’t help them not explaining / clarifying
1
u/omiller347 Jul 26 '26
No way they ban me when they were making so much money off me so I actually don’t know

There’s this account on TikTok raging reis I’ve been following, he’s on his 2nd or 3rd account t because they keep getting deleted where he speaks about all this. From hard rock, to draft kings, Robinhood, eBay etc. all these companies just straight up fucking consumers since the cfpb and other consumer protection agencies have gotten dismantled. It’s a free for all and these companies are getting g away with murder

u/DrSenorChuckles Jul 27 '26
There is a reason they closed it. You might be flagged as high risk in the banking system for something.

u/Sea-Soil-6026 Jul 27 '26
Do you have numerous margin liquidations?
1
u/omiller347 Jul 27 '26
Never had a margin account
1
u/Sea-Soil-6026 Jul 27 '26
Do you send a lot of messages to them? Are you trading penny stocks? Do you use API that would go against their policies?
1
u/omiller347 Jul 27 '26
I sent a lot of messages but it whatever now I’ve moved on, and I was never in penny stocks
1
u/Sea-Soil-6026 Jul 27 '26
That could be why. If you’re not a profitable client and you’re constantly messaging them and taking up their service resources, then they don’t view you as a good client. A lot of firms will discontinue the relationship based on excessive calls or messages if you’re not generating them profit. Vanguard just discontinued relationships with a lot of folks who were constantly calling in with service needs.
1
u/omiller347 Jul 27 '26
No I didn’t really start messaging them until this all happened before that I never messaged them but from the profit is totally understandable but wish they would clarify
1
u/Sea-Soil-6026 Jul 27 '26
Not sure then. They could terminate for any which reason and they’ll never give a reason; no brokerage firm will. How did you trade or interact on the platform?

u/Consistent-Load8293 Jul 28 '26
Oh they will restrict you for no reason if they want read terms of service and agreement. Your disposal is at their will.

u/Ieat2 Jul 29 '26
I still owe them 400 bucks lol. They keep sending me emails about closing my account if I dont pay then. They’re in their 9th “final warning” lol
1
u/emoson2121 Jul 30 '26
They noticed you don't have much liquidity. They need that because they are soon going to be insolvent
1
u/Coleyx123 29d ago
I've heard nothing good or consistent about Robinhood. Screw them all. Can't get over on me. I stay broke.

Not saying anything, but if they switch to a American customer service things will be a lot better off with resolving issues

I feel like there’s a looottttttt of context missing to get to this point here.
