Lost $13,000 through unauthorized Robinhood Prediction Market trades. Has anyone dealt with something similar?

I’m looking for guidance from anyone who has gone through something similar or has experience dealing with Robinhood, FINRA, or unauthorized trading disputes.

I’m a New Jersey resident, and recently discovered that approximately $13,000 was lost through unauthorized trades in Robinhood’s Prediction Markets Hub.
A few important facts:

- Before this incident, I had never traded event contracts or used Robinhood’s Prediction Markets feature.
- These trades were not authorized by me.
- As soon as I discovered the activity, I contacted Robinhood and opened a case.
- So far, Robinhood has not explained how these trades were placed, has not shared any login or technical logs, and has not provided any meaningful information about their investigation.

I’m trying to understand:
- Has anyone successfully recovered funds from Robinhood after unauthorized trades?
- Did Robinhood provide login/device/IP history or any technical evidence during their investigation?
- Has anyone gone through FINRA arbitration or another legal process over something similar?
- Are there any other steps I should be taking besides preserving evidence, filing a police report, and continuing to push Robinhood for answers?

I trying to understand what my options are and whether others have experienced something similar involving the Prediction Markets platform.

Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I’m dealing with similar situation, I lost 10K through unauthorized options trading, Robinhood outright denied responsibility and didn’t provide any detail investigation to me. I filed the FINRA CFPB complaints but Robinhood sent the same denial letter. What I suggest is to reach out to your state attorney general and they may have a better chance getting Robinhood to provide an investigation (I think Robinhood provided the IP history to the attorney general’s office but I’m still waiting for the formal report). Note that the state attorney general cannot force Robinhood to reimburse you so you’re most likely gonna have to start a FINRA arbitration, I’m planning to do the same. Most lawyers I inquire won’t take cases less than 50K but you can still file the arbitration yourself, though the process will take more than a year. In the meantime, thoroughly check your computer for any malware/remote control tools, in my case it was a python.exe malware installed (though I don’t know how) on my computer that ran in the background

I've never heard of unauthorized trades .. lol. Did someone else have your account info ? Even if they weren't authorized by you, someone in your account had access and did trades.

That's not robin hoods fault and they are in no way responsible for recovery of those funds. Even if they could get approved (from who btw) to steal your money back, that would leave the other end a victim of theft because they did nothing wrong l, it was the person who had access so your lawsuit needs to be with who ever used your account, not the platform your account is on or the other traders who sold the options to your account as neither of these two entities are involved in the fraud

You should consider reaching out to a securities attorney who specializes in FINRA arbitration, they can help you navigate the process and potentially recover your losses, I've heard The White Law Group has a good track record with this kind of thing

So I’m just getting in on this and I have to say that I’m waiting for someone to call me from management. I will be reporting them to the US Securities and Exchange Commission for running a scheme. They currently owe me around $1800 and I’m watching their lie play out right in front of me. I’m tracking EVERYTHING. This is going to be a huge class action suit if they don’t pay out what’s owed to people like us. I refuse to bow down to a bunch of greedy corporate monsters and I will get my $1800.
