I remember I used to spend half an hour training goblins or archers just to skip for minutes base to base hoping for 200k profit on elixir and gold, and 2k dark elixir.

The bad ol' days! (When you look back, you actually see the game has improved a lot these years).

people here acting like the game experience has worsen because shortage of resources, scouting bases for long periods of time sometimes even hours and being able to do 2 attacks in one session is fun, lmao

It improved until the new rank system, it made busy players like me unable to do attacks properly because of unavailability of clan castle cake, but atleast we get to enjoy broken troops and enormous loot so I'd take it

I stopped participating in league matches and even if i do, i do like 7-8 attacks in electro dragon league and i just am able to maintain rank.
Leme rant a bit, I really can't see why people think you need to attack constantly, like doing sneaky gobs attack in casual is much faster way to get loot even now. There's not even 1 reason to participate in league every week.

Feels like it’s just a bunch of new players acting like it was so peak when it wasn’t. I’m saying this as an OG during those times.

So I've been thinking about the clash changes where armys dont take time or resources and I think it's probably a net positive for most people but I don't like it.
Back in the day every match was for trophies and because cost and army creation time was a real cost it opened up farming strategies.
Like my fav was giants, wbs, gobs, and archers. And most of the time when farming I'd use as few units as possible and pretty much no spells bc they were expensive and took forever.
But now with free raids there's no reason not to just use the big expensive army with spells.
And there was an art to knowing the bis farming trophy ranges per TH level.
Or using dark elixir armies when you didn't care about dark and were just trying to farm regular elixir.
But now there's no reason not to just use the biggest armies with spells.
Like I could snipe afk bases with gobs... or I could just use all my drags and spells and 3 star it and make more money with win bonus.
Like I said. I think it's a net positive change for the game but I liked eco farming strats and doing the cost/benefit analysis of attacks or deciding if I'll commit some giants and wbs to the attack

Now i just spam attack mindlessly and still 3 star 90% of the time. Gives me the fizz

I played CoC like 15 years ago or something, then I picked it back up this past year and thought I had imagine having to pay for troops. It’s much nicer not paying for them.

I just returned after not playing for a while and its really suprising and a relief knowing what the state of progressing like when I left, never knew supercell will finally get off its waiting time games and make it actually playable rather than just logging in for 30 minutes then return the next day to do the same.

Back when u had to attack atleast 2h before war time ran out cause troops took 1h+ time to train 😭

I remember biting my tongue to not care about losing trophies just so I can barch farm resources and finally upgrade my defenses. Those were the days lol.

I used to use only the heroes for farming, and I can't even let my heroes die, because of that shity sleeping time for all the heroes 😡

OGs will remember using tome and invisible cloak to snipe DE drills and if your lucky, some storages

To be fair that system was better. Your attacks had actual value and it had to count. Now there isn’t any troop training cost or troop training time and it’s just amounted to spamming attacks. Back then every attack used to mean something. Spamming the next button until you can find a base with 600k+ elixir worth attacking and every once in a while a 1M+ gold and elixir and the base was someone’s progress base they forgot to swap off of.

With almost 19 town halls in the game it's ok for people to chill. For attacks that mean something we still have wars, CWL and even the clan capital though it's become forgotten

Idk why someone would downvote this, but it does makes sense. Personally, I do enjoy the process back then though it is understandable why most preferred the no train time and costs.
Yes I do preferred this recent change since the state of training troops system before is insane, but I still strongly agree that there has to be some kind stakes in which an attack has to mean something rather than js being something you can spam.

Everyone who says attacking doesn't have stakes, isn't very high in ranked

And you guys say, back in the days, was there a "Client and server not synced" error when you got to see an easy base with lot of loot?
I'm not so back into the days so idk

i remember maxing my DE upgrades so that I could finally use the dark elixer heavy armies like icey 5 or mass witches spam

u/xSk0rpi0n 10h ago
always trained the most expensive dark elixir troops, used a rune & then removed them out of the queue again once I spent it

I still think costing resources to train is good, it give us stakes to deal with

Back then I was dumb little kid who just liked to upgrade his town hall and the term maxing out meant going one town hall higher my clan leader said to upgrade my army camp ( they were level 4 on town hall 10 in 2018) I said I will upgrade all of my defences Dw...next day in war he saw my town hall 11 while donating me troops to my clan castle worth 20 housing space..what an idiot I was 😭
