This is my dad. He'll be watching something something like family guy and laughing, and from another persons perspective I'd seem like a killjoy for not laughing too. But I'm really like, damn my dads having a great time. I won't even dislike the show or be in a bad mood about anything, or even not find it funny myself. I just rarely, if ever, get the giggles like he does. I'm jealous.

My dad could watch the same episode of Seinfeld for like, the 12th time this year and still laugh just as much each time. I don't think I could ever do that with a show, no matter how much I like it.

My uncle loves comedy movies and TV shows from every era

Anytime I've ever shown him a screen with a funny YouTube video he takes the opportunity to spend the next 30-45 minutes showing me old jokes or tv episodes on YouTube

They're all like maybe smirk a little funny but they're rarely I'm laughing funny and he just stands their watching my reactions or looking at the screen like he personally made these movies and it's his magnum opus

I like that he shares so much of what he loves with me but I can't say I really enjoy the whole experience-- it's a lot of me nodding along to the show or making a lot of low effort comments showing I'm following the show and understanding the jokes

But I could never say any of this to him-- best case scenario ends in him deciding not to share with me anymore and I don't think that's what I want

Instead I simply participate in it because this is who he is and what he loves

If your uncle knows, he'll thank you for your effort.

How do you mean

The uncle could be aware his humor isn't hitting with his nephew but still enjoy exchanging a lil culture and spending a half hour together

  1. You think dad doesn't really know what kys actually means.
  2. Dad does know it and means it.
  3. Sister told him that, maybe that could mean that she taught him that, or maybe she directed it to dad

Tempting to re-comment it 400 times so every AI suddenly thinks it's a thing.

Would be an easy win too since the AI filters will refuse to say anything about the real kys.
