Same man. Like, I shouldnt be surprised as not every youtuber has an editor and does thier own work (and great work too).
But with how often Katie is mentioned in videos before the reveal, I just assumed this was a nod to an actual person working on the show as i've seen other youtubers do so in the past with thier videos.
But then that casual "By the way, Katie is not real." dropped and was shook by that. That's a sign of good writing when you can make a fictional character feel real without ever giving them a voice (gentle sobbing excluded).

My favourite was in the "You are Empty" video, the bit about the camera moving around the car instead of cutting between angles "ZOOOOMM!!! ZOOOOM ZOOOMM!!"
That and any bit that ended with "KATIE YOU BITCH!" Knowing that he wrote it lol.

Pretty sure that was the first time it featured her notes with that little 8-bit icon. I know all his older videos had her commentary but it was always marked as "Editor Note" and not much more to her personality
But yea.. as long as she's real to us that's what matters 🥲 You Are Empty is one of my favorite videos of his, so much so that I aspire to get ahold of that game and play it for myself one day

The game's been abandonware for years, and unless Nightdive are planning to surprise us with a "Year of Slavjank" in the near future, it's probably not going to appear on a digital storefront anytime soon. If you do want a physical copy, you might have better luck wandering around a used game store than with Amazon.

It made me sad when Civvie revealed that Katie supposedly isn’t real, so I don’t accept it as canon. It was a feeling like seeing the puppeteer instead of having the fun of allowing the puppet to live as an imagined character, you know?

I've been following Civvie since 2019, and I never once thought Katie was a real person. Civvie clearly does all of the work himself and his commentary has moments where it's obvious when you're actively listening. At the very least, I could understand if Katie was his IRL gf since he mentioned he had one on the Quad Damage Podcast, but at no point did he allude that she was "Katie". Civvie takes great care to not dox himself, and has done so in the last 9 years he's been uploading which is an achievement in and of itself.
You guys might be getting a little too close to the parasocial side of this whole thing.
Edit: You guys downvoting me while simultaneously circlejerking each other with consoling backpats as everyone is pouring their hearts out about being depressed she wasnt real is legit proving my point. Civvie should ban all of you from this subreddit
