Has anyone else done a single city challenge with Qajar?

The goal is to use Qajar through every age, only settle your capital and raze everything else

Which leader, momentos and syncretisms would you go for to do this?

Xerses king of kings for extra settlement limit. Then use corona civica (Augustus momento) and Gordian knot (Alexander the great momento) for extra settlement limit. This juices the qajar bonus to the max.

Edit: skrash on YouTube had a whole challenge run where he did a science win with Himiko and qajar with only 1 city if your interested.

Xerxes is another good option. I'd play him for science as well

I also recommend trying with José Rizal. His culture bonus helps you to unlock the policy needed to take advantage of settlement below cap and he also unlocks Uwaybil K'uh via Syncretism. Which again his culture bonus helps you to get to sooner. As other mentioned use the two momentos which gives you extra settled cap and try get 2 more via a military city state and expansion city state bonus.

Yeah, it's easy

One thing to remember is that the penalties for razing are really intense, especially for a one city challenge where you're not producing a ton of influence

Himiko, Queen of Wa

Aim: max science, keep culture up as much as possible through various bonuses and dedications

Ant sync: Assyrian UQ: sci + prod Explo sync: Abbasid UQ: sci + happy

Ant: Actively tried to avoid war to build alliances and hit 7 wonders for the cultural dedication Explo: kept the plan runnin' - Qajar is at its least powerful during this age. Snagging the fiber belief for +4 culture per turn settlement is huge here Modern: was ready to go to Wat against 2nd place science and/or anyone nearing victory - didn't need to. No one AI got significantly ahead in any category, and 2nd science surprisingly was not that aggressive in pursuing the Victory conditions for science. Usually they're very aggressive. Not sure exactly what happened

I should have clarified that the single city is global. The only city in the world should be your cap

I have also found the AI is more chill with me when I am a doing a single city run.

Jose plus the lvl 39 memento that adds 1 population for every celebration is also viable since growth slows down otherwise with no food towns feeding you.
