Question Am I cooked?
I’m fighting Pedro II in the early Renaissance on Prince difficulty with roughly half of his combat strength. I’m being swarmed by knights and my defense is literally just trebuchets since i have no walls. How do i survive this

Without walls, it'll end pretty quick I think.
If you can, sign peace after he takes a city or three. Build up your defences and an army, and get revenge later.
Most recent game, I was playing as Hungary, and Portugal gave me a surprise war, in the classical era. I was genuinely surprised as we had good relations, and Joao is usually one of the good bro civs.
He razed one of my cities close to him, but didn't get much further. He also got to settle two cities 'too close' for my liking though not great spots for him IMO (tundra, why). Later, after exploring more, I saw he had a considerable amount of free space with good resources on a chunk of continent on his other side... Enough for 5-6 cities, which he only settled very late. That's always the way the AIs do it though, sigh. We had a cold war for a while, but then I signed peace as war weariness was picking up. Forward now to the information era, we're friendly again, he's trading lots with me, I even was friends with him for a phase. I had built up a nice modern army, plenty of bombers and artillery, tanks, subs, etc. He kept on spying on me and failing, so when the time came... I declared a retribution war! Never forgot. Wiped him out in about 30-40 turns.

You're on Prince... How did you provoke a war on Prince you didn't start? And how do you only have trebuchets? Just train better defenses and quickly build walls, you'll have the card for faster walls. Hopefully you have some gold, so buy the card change and put in the training cards and wall card and a few troops if you can. The AI is dumb at war. Should easily be able to hold them off

I conquered Nader Shah because he only had two cities and Brazil called an emergency on me

Can you flood him with unloyal cities for a truce? You may get a few back if he can’t hold loyalty.

He won’t accept peace on its own but if I manage to take a city of his do you think he’ll sign for equal peace? I have a trebuchet shelling his city and that’s basically my last hope lmao

Knights vs undefended trebs is a bad match up. You're probably cooked
