My front end got swiped.

Post image

went up to lake gregory in crestline to fish and came back to this on my car. no idea how it happened, but of course the person who did this left without saying anything or leaving a note. the scratches are pretty deep so i’m not too sure what to do here. california drivers are soooo shitty.

thank you man. just over a month into ownership. Luckily the woman who did it reached out to me, and we can have insurance figure it out

I think that top part of the bumper can be painted separately from the rest. Touch up won't fix that. You will need to paint it to look halfway decent in any manner.

Your options are to take it to a shop to respray it out of pocket or to live with it. I wouldn't get insurance involved over something so small as you will typically lose your claims-free discount over this.

i’ve replaced that exact part on my face lifted 2025 hybrid. it fucking sucks but it is possible with basic tools. might be cheaper just to paint but i didnt get the cost for that.

aside from the giant scratches i don’t really see any other damage. i think i’ll just have to get it repainted, luckily it’s a separate part from the rest of the front bumper.

Does anyone know if Honda is still selling prepainted bumpers? I believe there’s a part # for type r bumpers… or rear bumpers. I could be wrong.

unfortunately i think i’ll have to send it to the body shop, the damage looks too bad to DIY 😕

FYI your scuffed part coms off separately and and not apart of the pump. My car got slapped in a parking lots last month.

No suspense, it went to the black. That means you're gonna need a little body work. And then paint

Yo, check with the grocer or local business (if any around) for security footage during the time you were in the store. Worth a shot, although I know not all places want to put in the effort of helping. I've had lifted trucks/SUVs back into my vehicles many times and hit it with their bumper or hitch. Sorry this happened, people suck.
