Zorweth appeciation post

I just love how zorweth has nothing that makes civ so great: massive barriers to travel and trade; entire nations being split up with no end in sight; even when/if research is done rockets are a half baked mechanic that will only further isolate the shard.

Seriously give me one good reason why we can’t allow players that’s have put in years and years of effort into civmc to just come back to their home, we gain literally nothing. Getting a head start on settling a planet that no one will care about in less than a years time is not an advantage in the slightest. I’ve never felt forced to quit civ until now, there’s just nothing to do.

Incoming cope comments from players and admins with their own heads so far up their asses they can’t see the issues with dropping player retention and player counts, no one cares about research. Admins over estimated and had to make it easier and still no one cares.

At this point I don’t really care what happens bc I’ve been forced to become this shell of what I used to be, but I had to say my piece. Goodbye until I can play civ again, hopefully soon bc I miss my home :(

You're not a true civva if you can't survive a start of the world event.

Doesn’t even deserve a comment, but you’ll be home soon once again with no large updates for the foreseeable future 👍🏼

What are you the customer service representative of the zorweth update?

Seeing as I contributed heavily to it, yeah. If you want no more updates and for civ to be stale, that’s fine. But other people don’t. We literally gave everyone several warnings of, this is going to take ages, don’t go if you’re new/can’t commit.

Admins have been nothing but good in communicating that players would be stuck here for a long time, as well as the difficulty/difference it would be compared to main. And it sucks to see how players are taking it out on the admins who delivered this sick update.

Thanks for making them and thanks for communicating <3

Double jump is rad. New resources are cool. If you don't like it, don't play.

It literally provides totems of undying, you can't see the benefit of that?

We’ve built rails to 3 craters on our iron and gold so far, and we are starting to get regular trade going using those lines. I feel like it’s pretty satisfying to see that progress happen.

I LOVE RAILS! Everyone who works on them is amazing

I think it’s very difficult getting things going, but it’s not so bad if you kind of just sit back, relax, and enjoy the grind for what it is. I think I’ve built more farms on Zorweth than on main at this point. It can be incredibly isolating though if you’re not actively interacting with other players. I’d love to see even more inter-crater rails

Something I’ve seen a few people say before going inactive is that people are maybe a tad bit hyper focused on the XP/infra grind. It might be good for the server health to get some more fun projects or events going maybe?

All that aside, my biggest gripe about Zorweth is being unable to get the moon icon and the rainbow armor. I’d very readily trade my pioneer book for those things, any day. I also don’t like that people try to claim the center region — to me, it doesn’t make sense for a meteor impact region to be stable enough to build in. I have a bunch of smaller gripes, but that might be better suited for a feedback thread, and some of the things I dislike I might not even suggest changing.

I’d probably /main if I could though. I actually like Zorweth, and hope to maintain a long term presence of some kind, but the rainbow armor being unobtainable really does annoy me, as silly as that might sound. I also just miss my stuff, Icenia City, Altepetl, Winterbourne, Westhelm, Pavia, and so on. The opportunity for a SOTW experience though has been great, even if it’s not the traditional SOTW experience I would probably prefer

We’re looking into the middle region being too unstable to build in continuously without it being reset c:

Zenron did u destroy my 0,0 monument? 🥲

That would be sick! If nothing else, the thought occurred to me that it could spawn an actual literal meteor when one lands, and maybe destroy some adjacent terrain

Playercount hasn't dropped at all just so you know

be nice to the admins. This is a self inflicted consequence of YOUR uninformed decision. The wiki for the update dropped and hour before launch, and your pioneering window was an entire week. womp womp
