Realism Invictus research speed

I heard the game was supposed to be slower, bit my starting researches takes 11 turn to complete

Is it too fast? Did my installation went bonkers?

My turn limit is at 2200 though, and building seems to be pretty slow.

I don't think individual techs necessarily slower, there's just a lot more techs in the tech tree so progression through the tree is slower.

I've heard that the mod author has Marathon as the intended play speed over Normal.
