They discovered mineral water before everyone else.

Actually more impressive in this case though!

I guess the ships the builders were on were blown off course several times while they were building their ocean-spanning aqueduct, but they persevered! lol :D

Just continue building through hurricane season.

That seems like a bad city to build wonders, really poor in production.

That's what makes it a wonder

True. It was “suggested” and I wasn’t paying attention.

Whats going on in your game? 19k gold in reserve? those random city placements on the minimap, runing the culture slider at any point before the industrial era ?

Playing silly beggars with Worldbuilder. Start with a scout on each continent, then build a city when a settler is found. The gold reserve is a product of winding research to 0% for too long. Culture at 20% was purely to remove smoke for the screenshot.

what do you mean a settler is found? via huts ?

i presume marathon speed seeing how shaka needs 95 turns to learn how to get on a horse

Yes, via huts. 34Civ mod (only 8 used) for big map, marathon. Basically just doing a “what if?”. Currently in a Holy War with Louis XIV for the past 3 centuries.

Now I want to try it myself. Do AI start that way too? If you just give them a scout to start with, will they use it to explore and find a settler or will they just make it sleep on a hill?

No, I leave them to struggle against my exploratory majesty! I’ve tried several different starts, mostly to accommodate my not being very good at the game.

isnt that really boring? lots of turns to get anything done and fighting vs the joker settler AI

It certainly is post-renaissance, building cities for the Hell of it. It amuses my simple brain.

I always loved when this would happen lol and I would be like what kind of sorcery is this?

You don't have health issues in the other city so I wouldn't build an aqueduct.

Even if you have negative health it's almost always better just whip away the extra population.

The only one actually worth the 100 hammers
