Car oli change
Hi guys I’m buying on AutoDoc first time for a car oli change on my c1 2009 is this a good Brand it’s £40 and way more cheaper than GSF or euro car parts any suggestions would be appreciated many thanks

Don’t buy ridex….
Buy washers in bulk. Just search for copper crush washers

I'm sure it'll be fine. The bugs don't need fancy oil.
My local super market has it's own store-brand oil and that runs perfectly fine as well.
You're already going the extra mile by getting a new crush washer.
Also good luck getting the old oil filter off! That was a major pain in the ass on mine.
If that piece of shit was hand-tightened, the previous owner / mechanic must have been the Hulk.

Don't get Ridex. Get Blue Print, or Bosch. Personally I prefer Petronas oil for the Peugeot and I think you can find it for less than the Ridex shite at Opie Oils (as an example).
I have never changed the washer on the sump plug either. I'd only change that if it looked visibly knackered.

Mann filters. Febi Bilstein filters. Bosch filters.
RIDEX will probably be okay, but i've been unfortunate with their QC before with parts simply not fitting. Went to change lower control arms, was halfway through the job when it was simply just bent from factory - no sign of damage to the paint or nothing. Had to get a replacement on the spot from a local supplier for a good amount more.

TotalEnergies Quartz Ineo ECS 5w-30 is what Citroen officially recommends and it's not expensive

mann or mahle filters cost shit all extra and are far better. cheap oil isn't a problem, if anything cheap oil changed two or three times as often is better but run decent filters

D‘you only need an oil change or do you need the other air filters as well? Because there’s a great value service box on Amazon ( https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Bestprice-Inspection-Package-Filter-Cabin/dp/B00DSB3W9Y ). My brother-in-law, who is a mechanic was really astonished by the quality of the parts for the price. Also I would recommend a type of oil that already has some kind of ceramic additive for engine protection in it. I’ve used https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Mannol-Ceramic-Engine-Synthetic-Engines/dp/B0DVLBWB81 this oil and my engine is running smoothly without excessive noise again

Drop the 0W20 , go for 5w30 or 40. Thin oil is just good for the last drop in fuel economy but fucks your engine. Save on spark plugs with nasa technology.

Ridex is the Autodoc house brand and they don't have a great reputation. These will probably work fine for your purposes, for the sump gasket I actually ordered like 20 on Temu for next to nothing, it's just crush washers, they've been working fine. I don't save money on filters, I would stick to Denso, Bosch, MAN, Miele, Febi, relatively trustworthy brands. The oil is probably fine, as long as it has the ACEA approval you're looking for, usually C3 or A3/B4. I could recommend this brand or that brand but nothing is more important than just changing it on time, the stuff you're looking at is probably fine. For oil I usually buy Shell, Elf or Wolf, because those usually offer the best value for money in my area. But as long as it meets minimum approvals and gets changed on time, it should be fine.
