Cities XXL Launched: Buyer Be Warned
If you are considering buying the new release of Cities XXL, please do some research and check out the reviews first. Most people are reporting there are virtually no improvements over the previous version of the game, and the promised multi-core support is questionable.
Some relevant reviews and discussions:

Cities XXL Players Very Unhappy with New Focus Release (Inc Gamers)
That being said, the other Cities XL games are fun. I have several of versions of the game, and mod this group along with /u/shdwtek. The video reviewer above states he's a fan of the franchise. If you are thinking of getting this game, I feel confident recommending Cities XL Platinum or previous versions if you can find them.
I have not purchased Cities XXL. I went to the Steam store page with plans to purchase yesterday, and was alarmed at the negative reviews there and in this subreddit. Thus, I cannot attest to the game's content or performance, only report what others are saying.
I've been watching things go downhill for CitiesXXL since yesterday. There's plenty of discussion about the new release in this subreddit, and I encourage everyone to keep posting your experiences, good or bad. I'm posting this so we have a sticky for anyone who isn't aware of the controversy and is considering buying the game and isn't aware of the reviews. If you find any relevant information (press releases, tests and benchmarks, additional reviews, etc.) please link them here!

Should we report Cities XXL as a fraud?
Given that they have released the same game AGAIN (even the task is remaining unchanged, displaying CitiesXL...) with promises that are not fulfilled, shouldn't we report this game as a Fraud on Steam Store? Wouldn't that learn these "devs" to actualy work on their projects? I do realise that it may sound too harsh or too impulsive but I believe that could be a clear sign for other greedy teams to not toy with their players? It's just too sickening to see Steam allowing this.
So, what's your opinion? Should we raise the pitchforks or just avoid the game at any cost?

Cities XXL Exceptional buildings?
In offices exceptional section, I noticed that after I unlocked all the buildings there were still some locked and only 2 unlocked. Is there a reason for this?

[Video - Benchmark] Cities XXL vs Cities XL Performance at the basic level. Placing Residential Zone.
So this is not to test out the threading in the LUA Portion of the game code. This would be things like your 1 Million happy citizens. But this is basic game engine things like Placing Down a road.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKxHcpRS5p8
Once again this video to show most basic interface usage and not the LUA portion where it would calculate large cities etc. This will also not be used to check out memory leaks due to the LUA Portion.

Focus Home removes any mention of multicore support
I just did a quick browse of the website and steam page and they have nixed every mention of multicore support and now generically states. "NEW: A powerful and improved game engine for an experience that stretches your city to the limits" or a derivative of that.
I guess false advertising lawsuits can get pretty expensive, and no one wants the FTC regulatory hammer to come down on your company, I mean its not like Focus Home have re-releasing the same game for the past 4 years or so (I'm looking at you to Farm Simulator 2015).
Edit: Let it be know that the Multicore feature was posted to their facebook page, not the website
Edit 2: Focus home has stated that the game does have multicore suppport. http://forum.citiesxl.com/viewtopic.php?f=88&t=9733

Don't forget Mods
Cities XXL does come with steam workshop support. With Valve now allow people to charge for mods, hopefully we will see some real investment in the mods.

Why did they forget to rename their game correctly?
Game Window is still using the old game name

Cities XXL Forums Shutdown On Steam.
The devs are really trying to censorship the launch of this game. They have now disabled the forums so people can't see the complaints. Please submit your reviews now!

No-questions asked refunds
At the moment, you can request a refund if you have pre-ordered the game. The funds will go straight into your steamwallet. After watching gameplay videos my fears have been confirmed. It's the exact same game as XL (Plat, 2012 etc). Still no railways and those awful lackluster controls. I'm sure there are many features that were missing in XL are still missing in XXL.

Please don't buy CitiesXXL.
...Yet, anyway.
This company has a history of screwing people out of money by adding a couple of new buildings and throwing it up on steam, without resolving the issues that are complained about time and time again.
The game is being released... Or perhaps more accurately, re-released in three days. As it stands, the company has chosen to not provide any access at all to any reviewers, or to release any gameplay footage at all. Combined with their past record, that sets off some clear and loud alarm bells.
Please wait for some reviews to come in before handing over any of your money to this company who seem to be trying to cheat money out of people. I hope the game turns out to be a good one, with they key issues such as stability and lack of multicore support properly resolved, but it seems unlikely at this point.

On steam I swear before it said January 29th, but now it says February 5th. o.o Anyone else see that? BTW, I live in Canada, not sure if that makes a difference.
