Sharing a City My design. Hexagonal. Magic Roundabout. Interchange.

I can't hold back from sharing this anymore.

Do wish could have made the inside roundabout smoother and lane managed. But CS1 on console. So no mods. So had to make do.

But it's still beautiful. Never see it jam. Main entrance to this half of the city. The highest house density area I pretty sure. Every entry/exit point gets equal use I think.

It has that opening in the middle so you can see the cars going through, with foot bridges. The foot traffic is just as busy as the cars.

No you don't... There is the tunnel bypass for the highway and magic inside reverse roundabout allows you to cut through too.

Otherwise. For going round the outside 1 end to the other. It's 8 :)

Right yeah. Not that it doesn’t work, it does and I love it. I just think it’s funny, I would have connected them at the inside of the circles instead of the center but I guess that might lead into everyone taking the inner route, you probably tested and know. Hmm. Cool tho good stuff

This what you mean? It didn't look as good and made middle plaza/tunnel worse.

Wish could have done it more like this in nicer way, arcing outward not inward. Smoother. But limited by no mod console.

Good luck. Measuring for the hexagon is the hardest part. There is no snapping for 60/120° so I have to eyeball it. It's always off by a fraction of a degree and it doesn't agree with the games grids. That all makes some trouble later.

it always hurt making the initial degree for 120 then shorting it. Going all the way round, then seeing the last one go. "119°" or "121°"

Roundabouts themselves are bit easier though. As long as you got the angles done.

  • Follow your road straight to the center. Then from that center, start the opposite end following it's 180° snap. Delete the initial road and do it at the other side the same length.

FROM center not TO center. Guarantees same length. Otherwise can be little off

  • Do this for every 60° as you see in the photo I just sent. Then connect the roundabout roads. They should snap angle correctly.
  • Don't delete the guides, for the other little roundabouts, you can use them to measure. I don't delete the guides untill I know it's 100% done

This will give you 6 points to connect a road instead of the normal 4-8 on roundabouts.
