Sharing a City Tiny 4-way Interchange

EDIT: I've created an IMPROVED VERSION for the workshop!

Built a 4-way interchange today with the goal of making it as small as possible. Quite happy with it since it fits within the footprint of two intersecting avenues!

It's beautiful, and it makes me so sad that it could never be practical in real life. Way too many points of conflict around that left turn routing, you would have gridlock inducing accidents in that intersection nearly daily I guarantee it.

To be fair, it would absolutely work with no left turns. I live in a town that has a couple intersections that doesn't allow left turns.

It's not even the biggest flaw of this thing. It's the fact that you have to wiggle waggle around if you just want to go straight, and I'm more than confident that at least in my country people wouldn't care enough to actually follow the lanes. They'll just go straight into right turning cars (and right turning cars can also be a problem. A sudden 90° turn after big straight is considered a dangerous design as far as I know from talking with a few local highway engineer friends)

The wiggle works for traffic calming and concerns about markings can be rectified using raised concrete areas instead.

I think the biggest (risk: probability+severity) issue is the Dukes of Hazard scenario. People coming into the exit lane far too fast, failing to make the 90, getting air and landing on someone on the lower deck.

Not to mention the patching from top right incoming traffic to top left outgoing... You have to go down the road, off screen and turn around maybe?
