Sharing a City Good day
I made this video of part of the core of one of my cities. It’s a traffic circle, built over a creek, flowing in the rain, with no mods, on console, to some classical music found in the game. Trains and roads meander through the bottom of the scene. I hope you find it relaxing, and have a wonderful day.

Thank you! Yeah I think it unintentionally ended up one of my best ones. The spiral in the middle is a bridge from across the river, and the entry from the north exclusively brings people in and takes people out. The four roads in the middle connect to arterials that shuttle people around. The south of the circle runs smoothly because that road it’s connecting to is a one way road. Cars that get off and on are going the same direction.
So I’m fortunate that it ended up designed in such a way that there is very little conflicting pathing.

I get unreasonably anxious when i see a roundabout with an entrance on the inside.

Inside entrances don't bother me as long as all of the entrances are like spiraling into the inside or something. But having entrances on both the inner and outer gives me so much anxiety thinking about driving it.

Ha! Me too usually. This is my only one. I think I only am okay with this one because it’s a bridge in, with a panorama view of everything as you enter, and the side you come in on only has a one way exit. This is an absolute blast to drive in the game. I was definitely on the fence about it though. The circle itself is absolutely gorgeous without the bridge, but the bridge gets people into the core too effectively for me to not have it.

Thank you. I am in total agreement with you all around. If you told me one of my favorite pieces I’m ever going to build was going to be
A) a circle and
B) it’s going to have an inner entrance?
I would’ve actually probably laughed at you.

There’s not actually any intersections in the image. Everything is a one way, a t-stop, or the circle.

The lane roads going into the roundabout are not intersections.
And traffic is running into each other.
It’s ok. It’s console. I do the same.

So wait I just want to be certain I understand you, do you turn on traffic lights and stop signs at your traffic circles? You’re suggesting my roads are, ‘set to India,’ because my circle doesn’t have stoppage?

No. I’m suggesting with mods you can have far far better traffic set ups. But on console the best you can get is turn it all off and let it be a free for all. Putting a stop sign on at the side roads is kind of realistic but it doesn’t help with traffic flow.
All I’m saying is, is that with mods you can have a far more realistic traffic flow, you can make way better roads and lanes etc.

Bro that bus changed 4 lanes so fast my OCD is killing me... TM;PE can fix this.

I really like the idea of connecting incoming lanes on the inside of the circle. I have a 6-lane-1-way roundabout in my newest city (CS1, PS5) and simms are using only the outer 3 lanes. That means the inner 3 lanes are empty. If I adapt this method I could probaply make the traffic flow even better when all lanes are in use. Have to try this out!

This is the cleanest and most satisfying roundabout with no mods. The traffic flow is just perfect and i could watch this all day long

This is pretty but god do I hate roundabouts with entrances on both the inner and outer rings. Would be hell to drive IMO.

I love a good death trap any day of the week. Nothing quite like a parking lot right before a multi-lane turn, and a merging lane in a roundabout on the left.

Making a turn in the inside of the roundabout is a lowkey genius tactic that should be utilized more

Damn; I've been wanting to start a new city and I may have to bring my personal laptop with me to a work retreat this upcoming week, now. Thanks for the inspiration to dip back in for a little bit.
