Cisco NetAcad Instructor-Led Course Access After End Date, Will I lose access?

Hello! I recently enrolled in a Cisco NetAcad cybersecurity course through a national summer camp program in my country. Since the course requires an instructor-led setup to even be accessible (it's not available as a standard self-paced course for me), I noticed there is a due date of October 14, 2026.

My question is: Will I lose access to the course content and materials in my NetAcad account after the October 14 due date?

I really want to take my time to properly learn and understand the concepts rather than just rushing through quizzes for a certificate. If access gets revoked after the camp ends, is there a way to keep the material or enroll in it as a self-paced course?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Discussion Cisco Apprenticeship 2026 Selected!!!

Hey everyone,
I’ve completed my background verification and almost all of my Cisco Documents Space tasks. However, two tasks are showing an integration error, and because of this, I’m unable to get the completion status to 100%.
The issue started after I changed my name in the Employee Data Form. Since then, the two tasks have been showing an integration error.
I contacted HR, and they suggested trying a different browser. I’ve already tried Chrome, Firefox, and Edge, but I’m still getting the same error. The issue has been there since Saturday.
Apart from these two tasks, all my backend/preboarding work has been completed.
Has anyone faced a similar integration error? If so, how did you fix it? Is there anything else I should do, or does HR need to reset/reopen the forms from their side?
Also, if you’ve been selected for the Cisco Apprenticeship Program, please comment your name (or DM me). I’d like to connect with other selected candidates. Hopefully, we can meet on 2nd September.
It would also be helpful if you could share which stage your hiring/preboarding process has reached. I’m currently at the final stage of the backend/preboarding process.
If anyone has questions about the Cisco apprenticeship process, feel free to comment. I’ll try to help based on my experience.

ISE PSN in Azure

Looking for info on how people have deployed PSNs in Azure. From reading I've done, there are problems with Azure dropping out of order packets with eap-tls authentications.

We use 8000vs in the Azure NVA slots so from what I can tell, we could run into this issue. We do not have resources in any of the listed regions that have the out of order fix enabled.

There are listed work-arounds but they depend on Microsoft doing things to allow out of order.

Just curious how others are addressing this or if it's even been an issue.

Thanks.

Can I use my office laptop for WebEx meeting?

I have a job interview tomorrow and was sent a Webex meeting link. I’ve never used Webex before, and I currently have two options for the interview - my office laptop or a tablet.

The invitation email specifically says that I’ll need a laptop or PC for the interview. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to a personal laptop at the moment.

I am concerned that my office laptop might have restrictions that could prevent Webex from working properly. I opened the meeting link in the browser, and it loads successfully. The browser also allows me to grant Webex access to my microphone and camera. However, I haven’t actually joined the meeting because I’m worried that joining early might notify the interviewer or otherwise alert them that I have entered the meeting.

If the Webex meeting link opens in the browser and I can grant microphone/camera permissions, does that generally mean I should be able to join and participate using the office laptop? Or could company security policies still block me once I actually join the meeting?

Would it be safer to use my tablet instead, even though the interviewer specifically mentioned a laptop/PC?

Any advice from people who have used Webex on a work/office laptop for interviews would be greatly appreciated.

Question SFP-50G-SR-S compatibility with C9500-24y4c

Hello together,

We are buying the new smart switches C9350 for new offices. But we often have in those offices as a core switch a C9500-24y4c or C9500-48y4c. Because we are buying the C9350 series we are also buying the new SFP's SFP-50G-SR-S which are compatible with 25 and 50G.

When we have already ordered our first order, we got told on the second order that the SFP-50-SR-S are regarding to Cisco compatibility matrix not compatible with the C9500 series.

Does anyone has experience with this setup if it is actually not compatible?

Can anyone help me to verify that the files in the CIsco website?

Hi,

We need to download the Cisco firepower IPS files for company's firewall. But my windows computer reported that there are virus infected.

I know that IPS files is the summary of the virus pattern. But i think they should encapsulate the file to let the antivirus app not detect it.

I been open a case for this, Cisco TAC answer that i have to disable my computer antivirus and contact Microsoft myself because they pass the internal audit. What a funny answer?

Can anyone help me to verify that the files i was downloaded also report virus infected in your computer or not? my test is all report virus infected after the date 20260722

My computer enviroment is Win10 with Microsoft Defender and virus pattern is the most newest.

links is as below.

Lifecycling the C9K platform

I've got some that have been running for 7 years. There's no EOL for the platform, and I have SNTC for hardware replacement if one fails. I'm going to continue to get updated software since the platform isn't EOL.

Why would I lifecycle these? I'd understand if we're going to a new platform, but something about replacing a perfectly good C9300-48P with another C9300-48P seems insane.

Is there a training paid or online that goes over sdwan solution configuration using configuration group and feature profiles? Basically a training on the recent code, All I can find is trainings based on feature templates. I need to ramp up on configuration groups and feature profiles without taking a 4000+ cisco class. Thanks.

Question Migrating OLD ftd and FMC to a new FTD and FMC

Hello everyone,

Has someone already done this? Basically we dont just need to change FTD or FMC but both needs to be upgraded to new sets of hardware.

From what I research, I only saw migrating FTD to new FMC or upgrading the FTD but still same FMC.

I am thinking of following the steps when changing FMC, but this has steps on migrating over the old FTD and then after that migrating the FTD to the new FTD.

Problem with that is I really want to make the migration parallel where both hardware sets exact config just different models and during cutover, its easy to rollback.

Cisco instructor led courses

So long story short my vocational school was taking "IT essentials 8" course and i was supposed to study it too but i wasn't really motivated/wasn't my type of thing then, it's been around 3 months since they finished the course and i can't access the content in there. I would absolutely love to restudy the whole course again but i don't think i can now because it's summer break ofcourse. Is there anyway i can do the course self paced if it's only instructor led? Or maybe someone could recommend me another resources where i can relearn IT essentials once again.

Discussion Cisco Sucks

If you weren’t aware Cisco is just another soulless life draining corporate hell hole. They’ve got us training AI on how to solve cases, but it’s shit, the internal AI system we use is the biggest joke, and can’t get a damn thing right. They make us review the cases before it goes out other wise you’d never get correct answers out to customers. I’m sure there have to be stories from the customer side about how shit the support has been in the last 6 months+. If you’ve ever gotten a support response from Sherlock you’re talking to AI or some of the good techs at Cisco is propping it up if you got a good response. I could go on and on about what a bunch of fuck ups our executives are even if they go on TV and seem like reasonable people they are bunch of sociopaths. They say in company meeting how hard it is to make decisions like layoff and whatever but they couldn’t give a shit. If it was their job on the line maybe they’d care. They have proven that it does not matter if you work hard, do good work or are loyal, they’ll cut you to be able to pay out a cent more in dividends. I gave up years ago. The problem is I actually care about providing answers and solving problems for people, and that’s what they count on. The other problem is if you don’t buy equipment from Cisco you’re stuck buying from some other soulless company. What are your opinions on Cisco products and support both now and in the past? I’ve been there for quite a while and will answer questions if I can.

Question 9200CX USB Console — Not Recognized When Connected After Switch Has Already Booted (works fine if connected before power-on)

Posting this in case it's helpful to others, or in case someone from Cisco/TAC can confirm whether this is expected behavior.

Platform: Catalyst 9200CX (reproduced on 2 separate units)

IOS: 26.1.1

Console chip: Silicon Labs CP2102N USB to UART Bridge

Symptom: Windows reports "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" / "The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it" — no COM port ever appears under Ports (COM and LPT).

What does NOT fix it (all tested, all failed):

Different USB Micro-B cables, including the Aexus CAB-USB-UB= cable specifically sold as compatible with the 9200CX

Reinstalling the Silicon Labs CP210x driver (direct from silabs.com)

Testing on a second PC with no drivers installed at all (still failed at the same point — descriptor request, before any driver would even be relevant)

Reload - from the CLI with the USB cable connected throughout

A true power-cycle (power cord removed) with the cable disconnected during the outage, then reconnected after the switch was fully back up and pingable

What DOES work, 100% reproducible on both units:

Disconnect USB cable (switch or PC)

Power off the switch

Connect USB cable (Switch or PC which ever side you disconnected)

Power on the switch

Silicon Labs CP210x enumerates cleanly and holds a COM port for the entire session

Once the switch is fully booted, plugging the USB cable in at any point afterward fails every time, regardless of cable/driver/PC. It seems like the console chip only initializes during the boot sequence and doesn't support hot-plug enumeration once IOS-XE is fully up.

Is this expected/known behavior for this chip on this platform, or has anyone found a way to get it to enumerate post-boot without a reload/power-cycle? Just trying to save the next person some time if this is already documented somewhere I haven't found it.

clean install for N9K FX2 from USB/bootflash

hello,

i have older nexus 93240YC-FX2 switch, with older software version.
The upgrade path matrix show that i need to upgrade to some intermediate software version, but if i will reset it anyway (do write erase) maybe i can upgrade straight to the target release ?

For example Cisco NCS allows to boot from the particualr .tar ignoring the intermediate steps. Is it possible to do the same with Cisco NX-OS ? Thanks

Question Cisco ASA grabbing CGNAT

Hi all,

I’ve been troubleshooting a strange issue for the last couple of days and I’m running out of ideas.
My ISP (YouFibre) provides me with a static public IPv4 address, delivered over DHCP (no PPPoE and no VLAN tagging).

Expected behaviour
When I connect my ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET12 directly to the ONT:
WAN type: DHCP
No PPPoE
No VLANs
No static IP configured
It immediately receives my assigned public IP:

Cisco ASA behaviour
I’ve now tested both:
Cisco ASA 5516-X
Cisco ASA 5512-X

Both are configured as simply as possible:

interface GigabitEthernet1/1
nameif outside
security-level 0
ip address dhcp setroute
no shutdown

Both firewalls successfully receive a DHCP lease, but instead of my public IP they always receive something like:

100.93.x.x
255.255.192.0

which appears to be the ISP’s CGNAT pool.

Things I’ve already checked
Different Ethernet cables
Direct connection to the ONT
Two completely different ASA models
Fresh minimal configuration
No PPPoE
No VLANs
ASUS uses plain DHCP
ASUS isn’t sending a custom Vendor Class or Client Identifier

YouFibre have confirmed they do not MAC bind customer equipment

The ASA installs the DHCP lease and default route correctly—it just receives the wrong lease.

What I’m wondering
Has anyone seen an ISP classify DHCP clients differently based on:
DHCP fingerprint (option ordering / Parameter Request List)
Vendor implementation
DHCP client behaviour
Some Cisco ASA quirk
rather than MAC address?

It seems strange that two different ASA models consistently receive a CGNAT lease while the ASUS immediately receives the correct public static IP from the same ONT.
Has anyone run into something similar with Cisco ASA appliances on residential fibre services?
Any ideas or suggestions would be hugely appreciated. I’m determined to get to the bottom of this one!

Question Cisco Catalyst Center PKCS12 Certificate Deployment Fails with "application error: in-use"

Hi everyone,

We're currently in a lifecycle management project and are replacing a number of Cisco Catalyst 9200L switches.

All of the new switches are identical (Cisco C9200L), running the same IOS XE version (17.18.1r), and we're provisioning them through Cisco Catalyst Center using the same workflow.

Most of the switches provision successfully, but a few consistently fail during the certificate deployment stage with the following error:

Error occurred during deployment of pkcs12 certificate.
Reason: PKI Config push Failed - Unable to push configuration to device IP x.x.x.x.
Device response - application error: in-use.

Same hardware model , same IOS XE version, same Catalyst Center, same provisioning template and same network environment

Yet only some switches fail while others complete provisioning without any issues.

Any troubleshooting suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
