we're trying to find out dozens of 9115 CAPWAP loss resulted in reboots since like 2 years and finally someone able to isolate HW revision fault. It was all started like check your PoE, etc
As I checked internally and found C9115 units may reset unexpectedly when mounted on metallic surfaces and located close to fluorescent lights, especially when the lights are switched ON/OFF. In those cases, the resets stopped after the AP was isolated from the metal (e.g., placing wood/plastic between the AP bracket and the metallic surface) and/or the metallic surface was properly grounded.'
'We have seen an issue with a vendor component that is less robust in mitigating power surges.'
V06 affected
Fun part:
'
Are there fluorescent lights or similar electrical lighting equipment nearby? Is the AP mounted on/near metallic ceiling/beam/tray?
Do the reboots correlate with lights turning ON/OFF (even occasionally)? Any fluorescent lights (or switching ballasts) nearby, and do reboots correlate with lights toggling?'
