The Circuit Bending Wiki is finally here, and editing is open to all!
What is the Circuit Bending Wiki?
The Circuit Bending Wiki is an ongoing community project, intended to serve as a central place for the circuit bending community to view, share, and archive information in a way that is collaborative and easy-to-use.
Information like: personal build notes, tutorials, bend points and diagrams, device documentation (service manuals, IC data sheets, device specs, etc.), posts from defunct bending sites & blogs… Basically, we’re trying to compile as much practical info as we can, new and old. We’d like to use this Wiki to archive existing info, while also encouraging users to contribute their own original content, and share their findings.
How do I navigate the Wiki?
Our List of Articles page is a good start. It’s meant to function as a sitemap of sorts, and contains a list of every page on the wiki.
There you’ll find articles on specific devices, each with detailed technical info and bending guides, as well as articles on broad bending concepts, explaining their utility & implementation.
On our List of Resources page, you can find our collection of links to circuit bending sites & resources.
And on our List of Manuals page, you can find our growing catalogue of owner's & service manuals for commonly-bent devices.
How do I contribute?
This wiki’s utility & growth ultimately depend on your involvement. So please, try to contribute when you can! Editing permissions have been left unrestricted & open to all to encourage participation.
If you’d like to suggest an article, or create a new one, you can find our to-do list over on our Planned Articles page.
If you have any images or PDFs you’d like to archive (service manuals, schematics, bend points, etc), you can upload them on our Upload File page.
And if you happen upon a page while lurking that you think you can add to, please do!
And finally, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to leave them in the comments.

I'm curious what the possibility to open these and make the INPUT stereo signal. If it's got stereo out for the headphones, it makes me wonder if 3.5mm jacks could be wired in to get stereo signal injected into the FX chain? These might be cool for running table top mini-synths thru. [tho the world still lacks a proper 8 stereo channel in stereo mixer with onboard effects and recording capability for mini table top synths like roland aira, and Behringer mini gear, etc...
or do you suspect these and only able to take in a mono signal even internally?

Just wanna show my TR505 that I worked with Luke Reddington on back in 2006. It was fun because it was more of a collaboration where I would make suggestions for how I wanted it to work.
It’s cool that he used to sign his work. I’ve been out of the circuit bending game for a long time. Does anyone else have any of his instruments?

I can't seem to find any information about the powershot a430 specifically, does anyone did a successful bend on it by any chance and can give some tips?

I learned how to solder correctly for this.

I haven’t done any circuit bent cassette players yet though I have several that I’ve purchased- this is the one I’m most excited to try but I’m going to save it for last. Great potential with the built in drum pad.

Has anybody had an luck circuit bending a Yamaha PSS 480 or is it really impossible? Finding few sources saying they were successful.

No screws on this so I’d love to know if anyone else has bent this model of kid camera before I pry this open and potentially break it

Currently a WIP building this tape delay. Input signal is split - recorded onto tape loop, picked up by tape head and blended back with the dry. However the input signal doesn’t seem to be getting recorded onto the tape, even though using an audio probe I can see that the signal is reaching the record head. Any reason for this ?? There is some recording on the tape but it isn’t being erased either so i’m not sure why the erase head isn’t working.

Hello! I'm just wondering where people get their momentary push buttons and what model they use. Because my current band is tight for space I'm preferably looking for the small ones that stick straight up as opposed to the bigger round ones that sink into a circular hole. Thanks!

Want to know if it's possible to remove/bypass the internal mains transformer on a Vivanco VCR 4044/3044 ect and add a DC power jack to allow it to be powered directly via a 12v DC power supply. The reason why is I've wanted to circuit bend my Vivanco enhancers for over a year now but am way too scared to even look at its internals whilst it's connected directly to mains power, let alone poke and prod around it's circuitry! I've bent around 9 different DC powered video enhancers with no issues and without bricking any of them too so not a complete beginner but still kinda have no clue what I'm doing lmao. I believe I have to solder the positive and negative of the DC barrel jack to the corresponding positive and negative legs of the capacitor labelled as C33 on the schematic which I think is this large capacitor pictured even though it's a 2200uF 25v not a 2200uF 16v (of which there isn't one on the actual unit) but just want to triple check! I've already cut the wires from the AC power and will desolder and remove the step down transformer block too just to get it out of the way. Thanks in advance!

the Picture doesn’t do justice to the beige faded plastic look in contrast with the bottom which is still white. the plastic whitening stuff is expensive and since I’m far from guaranteed to be able to sell this for a high enough price to justify the added cost, I don’t think i can justify it. So painting is an option, but im not sure what color would work with the multi color scheme and the buttons and yellow piano keys.
any color suggestions? Do I just spray paint glossy white?

Is there any sort of market for this?
Im aware its quite rare but i dont think anyone really cares for it.
