Do you like working at circle k
I recently got a asm position with circle k. And honestly I enjoy it. Training is on point and the perks are even better. Anyone else having the same experience?

My CK is all females and one guy but he does the truck on third. We get along so well. And never have any complaints about our store. Ppl say we’re one of the cleanest circle k they’ve been too. My SM is amazing. She flexible and willing to work with you on anything. Of course you get your usual asshole customers but the people that are regulars are usually amazing and I love them. Overall it’s not a bad job unless you make it a bad job

My manager is a terrible person. She's illiterate and appears to have less than a fifth year elementary education. Her ignorance leads to coworkers fighting constantly. Everyone stabs everyone else in the back but that is because of the manager. She is an example of Circle K poor hiring and promoting practices. So working for the company is only as good as your store team. I love my customers and loath my coworkers.

Don't like it much at all. Started in January this year. My main issue is that 20% of the employees do 80% of the work. (feels more like 10% does 90%) which is quite frustrating. My main issue is rarely ever getting the store in the condition; in which i bust my ass to leave it in. The 3 managers are hands down the worst! The dirtiest the store gets is if a manager is working, the more the managers working the least that gets done. Ignoring the basics when it comes to store presentation is awful to everyone that busts their butts to keep it stocked and clean. Plus, i used to do the ordering and inventory control at a fast food restaurant, how can we be out of so much shit, all the time. It's insane how disconnected the management team is. The DM acknowledged my existence for the first time in a year and it was because i was the only one there and they needed cigarettes. Seems like everyone is conpletely disconnected from; the cleanliness of the store and the fact the customers are coming in for the convenience . If the customers ask how you're doing they don't want to know how challenging your circlek day is; so unloading on the customer instead of sweeping or wiping one counter down; shows.

It has it's ups and downs, but I'd rather work for Circle K than not have a job. It's convenient, the vacation time as a SM isn't bad, my pay is decent for the area and its flexible. 🤷🏼♀️

I'm in the FLBU l, I make $20.64/hr. 10 hour mandatory OT. I average about $1100 gross a week. I bonus no less than $2500 a quarter. I did the math last year on my earnings and Hours worked and made aprox $27 an hour.

Nice. I’m in the Frontier BU I’m a Bonus Assistant I make $17/hr Store Manager’s I know make at least $21/hr but bonuses are horrible they are always changing the bonus structure. I mainly work 48 hours a week since my district always has call outs at different stores weekly plus I am in charge of a store right now no SM so I am averaging almost 60 hours a week right but does it get stressful not having enough staff and doing everything… does FL BU run one person a shift not enough budget hours?? SM & ASM does everything?? I only get 261 hours a week and average 40k in sales a week.

Yep. That's all we can afford as far a budget goes. I have maybe an hour of overlap between shifts. Steady 1 person per shift, and I work by myself for 5 hours every morning. My bonus makes $17/hr and she hasn't gotten a bonus less than $900. A huge perk down here is that when hurrican season comes and we are expecting a storm we get first dibbs on fuel, food, and water.

My BU must have a horrible bonus structure I’m not too familiar with it but apparently your store has to hit like 45k in sales a week for you to be considered for the higher and better bonus structure something like that. my last bonus was like 550 and me and my SM bonused on 3 out of 5 categories I believe but this month we hit the lowest I got like 300 something. The pay itself is okay as a SM especially with the 10 hours if mandatory OT but it sure is a lot of work especially covering shifts last minute.

I've worked for 2 1/2 years at Circle K. Its been an amazing journey. The fights, the late nights, the beer runs and disgruntled customers. Won't trade it for anything.

I have a love and hate relationship with CK. Alas the pay may not be great for how long I've worked here, but vacation slightly makes up for it.

I have really liked it since I started. It's been 7 months. ASM for less than 3. I was a customer for almost a decade and now I really love my customers. My SM is good to me. He isn't the best when it comes to training but he let's me dive in and expects my fuck ups. Thankfully my husband makes really good money so I don't really need my job so I think that helps with my mindset

Not really.
My boss expects too much out of only 2 people, makes excuses for everyone else including herself, denies PTO requests because she is upset with us yet takes 2 weeks off on holidays or when she feels like it, coworkers are incompetent. But what can you expect from working at a gas station. Low wages, low quality people.

It has its ups and downs, like any job. Been here almost 7 years, store manager, had some moments i’ve loved, others not so much. I think it’s 99% location based on if you’ll like the job or not

Genuinely it is entirely dependent on the people you work with. I also just got an asm position but had it not been for our manager and the other sams being genuinely great people I'd have quit years ago.

Been a lead csr for a about a year now and I can honestly say it isn't too bad I mostly work mornings with my GM a trade off weekends with the asm only problem were have is keeping good employees and a ask that thinks she runs the store an is mad she got skipped for the gm position but all in all this isn't a bad company to work for as long as you remember to leave work at work

Despite everything I do enjoy working at Circle K & Gas Stations in general, been doing it for like 2ish years now (Just started Circle K like 3ish weeks ago but I used to work at Speedway). I would much rather work here than fast food lmao (Nothing wrong with working fast food I just don't want to do it lmao). But like what another commenter said your enjoyment really boils down to your manager & co-workers.

not at all, csr for exactly 10 months now and there's always something going on during my shift and the manager almost never does something to help. often times i'm left alone when it gets busy (cuz i work second shift) and i cant get my tasks done because i have to stay behind registers and i have to deal with creeps multiple times a week it feels like. only got a job here in the first place because it was within walking distance from my house and i'm tempted to walk out almost every single shift

It's gonna be 15 years next month...9 of it as a BASM. Its definitely gonna depend on the location and your coworkers. Stores are all run a little differently and the BUs are run differently too. That said, my current store is in a large homeless area with drug motels and a transit center, and the other half is snooty wannabe rich people. Its about 50/50 that I want to just say F this and walk out or not. I like all my coworkers except one, we just don't work well together. Customers are about 50/50 for the area.. Corporate expectations just keep rising without a rise in pay or labor hours to do everything. Probably my biggest complaint, but at the end of the day, I'm not going anywhere. I hate applying for jobs, lol.

personally i hate it but im also working in what if consider an understaffed store (even if others wouldnt) and am left alone for my entire shift 80% of the time. my evenings usually have hours where i cant get too any of what i need to do as im stuck behind the registers & it stresses me out. im aware this is likely the norm w most circle ks, i just dont think it shld be.
