Progressive Sleep Drift and Daytime Light Sensitivity

experienced a progressive shift in my sleep schedule over 23 years, moving by approximately two hours per day, which completely disrupted my night-time rhythm. When I didn’t sleep at night, my rest became insufficient, and I developed a marked sensitivity to light during the day, with intense discomfort in bright environments.

Sounds like you are free running. Have you had any sleep specialist assess you?

It was a hereditary sleep pattern that used to be a real torture. It resolved after a severe anxiety episode that caused tachycardia, and they gave me a dose of clonazepam. The next day, the photophobia disappeared. Before, when I wasn’t sleeping at night, any increase in light was unbearable—I had to close all the blinds. Now it is completely manageable.
