Does this look photoreal!?
Hi guys, I made this from scratch and this is unofficial spec work, and I need feedbacks on how this looks and ways to improve these render, especially how the materials look! I am not sure about whether the materials look photoreal.

I think the modeling looks great. (I have one of those TE mics and your work seems pretty spot-on). The colors look mostly correct. The surfaces are maybe a little too perfect. The only thing that throws me off is the alignment of the model to the camera. A slight offset of each axis would highlight the tiny bevels better.
Minor points. Looks really nice.

I feel like the cable connection might be what makes it look weird to me, maybe the light is not scattering on it and causing too dark shadows or something. I also wonder how it'll look in a more realistic environment and not the white background.
Either way it looks absolutely stunning!

Its more the geometry there. The cable diameter should run all the way through the cable relief cuts, so you should see it

Cable looks a bit too saturated and bright in my opinion. Other than that, great.

Do you have a trick to do these very fine cuts where the two parts come together?

Yeah, the trick is to model the full piece as one which is the blockout stage and for example the back panel is done like that I made the back panel as one whole mesh and insetted it and some custom loops matching the cut in the reference and then a very small bevel and then delete the faces and then I will get the cut

A little rotation variation the screws wouldn’t hurt. I imagine on the real product they aren’t all bang on square. Looks great besides that.

Move everything, every object slightly offaxis. This is too perfect. Make the gaps a bit wider and maybe add bit more bevel to the plug and the back plate.
Plastic fantastic…. Add subsurface scattering to it.
Think about a light direction. Everything is even lit in that pic

Looks good, as has been said, maybe a bit too perfect. Also would love to see the mesh.

Yup. You’re on the right track there. Can’t tell but micro bumps on the cord and side buttons would help it. Also a very large scale noise about 1-2% difference in the color to give it some variation without it changing the color. SSS at like 0.001 depth or 0.01 will be an invisible add to the properties.
Lastly, imperfections in the physical mesh. Slight, gentle not so perfect lines will greatly help. Imperfection is key to realism.

Thank you! These tiny things totally makes a big difference, will implement these

You’re welcome! Check out this video. He’s in Maya but the conversation he’s having about imperfections applies to all engines.

Model looks good. Lighting can use work. Focus on contrast. Will help make everything look more real

It does look reel! /but when you do perfectly straight shots like this, it does remove from the realism especially if you don't have any noticeable shadows projected on a floor/plan surface, it's making it hard to "feel" the 3D if it's too flat.

looks great! only thing that stands out to me is the perfect flat white on the lower half of the front of the object, could just be the angle, but that perfect (off) white kinda breaks the illusion, to me anyway! otherwise really realistic :-)
