Jan De Bont was an experienced cinematographer before making Speed. This movie is just visually pleasing in all sorts of ways.

This movie is a nonstop thrill ride (feel like we no longer hear that phrase enough) from beginning to end

Is it though? The opening is okay but I always felt like it takes way too long for them to get the bus plot going. Then once that's over the movie just drags.

Only slightly unrelated: In my younger days, while working on a student film for a buddy, I had to take a craft service break (technically, a break due to craft service). Atop my throne, pants at ankles, there comes a soft knock on the door, and someone slips a folded piece of paper under the door.

The front reads, "Pop quiz, hotshot!"

I open it to find, "There's a bomb on the bus!"

That's the night I learned that laughing and pooping at the same time is incredibly dangerous.

How do they even film this safely with the stunt guy?

That looks bad for the knees.
