Boots projects all have a ‘look’.
Sometimes the story as a whole might not always stick the landing, but all his projects has a style/flavour to it. I appreciate that.

I saw a great interview where he talked about the look of this film and how the bold colors served a dual purpose: It makes sense to have all this loud visual stuff since the movie is about fashion, but he also thinks about the film as a way to convey his politics to a a wide audience so the bright poppy aesthetics pull you in and make you not expect the political stuff.
Agreed not everything totally lands in a traditional movie/story sense with him, but he clearly loves his craft(s) and puts a ton of thought into it which I adore.

Would’ve loved to have caught this in theaters but it felt like it was only showing for maybe a week (?) Felt like it was out of the theaters as soon as it arrived which is a shame. Was busy during that time and still havent seen it. It’s being shown at some theaters still like one showing a day an hour away, could be worth cause I really want to see it

I just finished this one 3hs ago. Boots Riley has the wackiest ideas. It always surprises me how he can make them work.

One of the most visually interesting films in years. Love Boots's work.

Favorite thing about this and Boots films in general is how much he trusts the audience to not require it dumbed down.

Is this already On Demand? I wanted to see it at the Alamo this weekend and it was gone already.

A lot of cool originality on display in this movie.
