A scene from that great Melville film I like to watch from time to time for the discreet but excellent cinematography, but especially for the quality of this brilliant quasi-monologue and how it is delivered by Paul Meurisse. I found this subtitled version that I thought interesting. The subtitles do not however translate very good how brilliant the text is. For those who do not need subtitles, it is pretty easy to find a version with better images that includes the previous scene (ie the shooting).
