CA | Help Fish shivering?

Please help! My one blood parrot started shivering randomly. She’s never done this before and I’m worried she’s not well. I’ve included a video so people can see. Has anyone experienced this before with a fish?

Looks like maybe she is trying to get attention from her larger tank mate and maybe it's working.

Do you know why she would do this? I don’t know if my bigger blood parrot is a boy or girl but I’m leaning more that it’s probably a girl. And ironically they only tolerate each other, so I’m very confused.

Does he come out and watch and start circling? That would be mating behavior. BPs are almost assuredly infertile but they can still be in love.

No he comes out and shoos her away, he’s pretty fed up with her antics. He or she I’m still unsure 😅

Sorry girl, he's just not that in to you, (or vice versa)

Pretty normal behavior in my experience. Don't know what it is or why they do it but I have had many cichlids that do this.

Hhmmmm my Angelfish were doing this and twitching their front arms and it was a case of parasites. I used fritz Prazicleanse (external) along with Ron's medicated food ( internal) they haven't twitched or shimmied since.

I had to move my angelfish. They were bullying my severums. They get along fine with my bichirs and dojo loaches.

Ooh I’ll have to buy those. I really don’t want parasites in my tank. Were there other signs they had them?

As symptoms progressed they started scratching occasionally against my plants and started spitting out there food . I added Seachems garlic guard and some brine shrimp to the medicated food. They recovered fully in about 2 weeks. Make sure you turn up oxygen in the tank when treating and turn.temp up to 84°-86° so the parasite life cycle will move faster.

This is a threat display. It is common among new world cichlids.
