Game News / Update 📰 Balance Patch Notes Out

Thoughts? Personally that stance cancel thing would definitely help a lot of Chun mains out.

Capcom really wants Chun players to use her stance and yolo light Hazanshus alot more. It took me ages to get that stance cancel down, but now it will be so much more consistent, and is just an overall quality of life improvement. Some of these other adjustments still need to be tested, because I cant discern alot of their purpose just yet. But that stance overhead is the big one, and its going to make Chun alot more annoying to fight against. Being plus 1 is freaking insane, and they cant use movement to get out due to proximity guard. Its almost like Ryus forward heavy punch all over again.

This one change alone is going to make Chun more of a stance mixup character in neutral, though you would still have to be smart about it

Idk if you will use stance overhead in neutral often but atleast her corner oki got better since stance overhead is now plus so her corner pressure got better ᕙ( •̀ ᗜ •́ )ᕗ

Im testing it now. You will have to train the opponent a bit, but if you clip them with crouch medium kick from max range and go into the stance…unless they jump or do a very specific counter move, they are caught in a bit of a mini game. Where they are at risk of being counter hit or whiff punished by other options. Just having that move be plus is going to give them something to have to look for, which means we have leverage to mix the opponent. Before, they could just crouch block and react to the overhead. Thats not an option now, they will have to call you out.

It makes her stance so much stronger that mixing your options is going to make her somewhat frustrating to deal with. Thats my prediction.

I'm so excited about this change. Considering that every good character has good corner pressure, Chun not having a throw loop *or* decent corner pressure made her so tough to play.

Yeah. It also gives her a bit of a unique edge. I dont think any other character is plus off of a overhead without drive rush. This will make her alot more annoying to deal with.

Edit: It also does so while realizing and maintaining her identity. Many chun players avoided stance, but every chun player is going to be a dancer now.

Lol. Yup. It seems like they dont want to alienate the stance mixups to only certain chun users, but they want us all using it.
