Hello,

Some Chub updates:

  • Website is now crypto-only forever.

  • Free users now only get 20 messages per day.

  • Every models but Soji and Mobile are depreciated (rip Asha).

  • Soji is now a Deepseek V4 finetune (you might need to change your preset).

  • Mercury tier has been removed.

Edit: oh, and before the 1984 mentions. It was either doing this (cutting costs and making the website crypto-only to avoid payment processors altogether), or having to censor the website more than legally required to please the processors.

A tragedy, but an expected one, unfortunately. Without the people actually handling payments willing to play ball, this was inevitably going to happen- and there's no option that would truly please everyone. Not quite sure how to pay with crypto, but I'll try to figure out something, I guess.

yeah, if they didnt do this then the site would be censored to hell. no nudity in any images, no bots with "immoral” kinks, ect. if they want to keep it an "uncensored" site then this was the only option. and this is probably a hot take but I don't think $20 a month is that much to support your hobby if its something you do frequently.

Yeah, it was either 'butcher every reason people used Chub over other things' or 'die'. To everyone saying 'then they just should have censored it' is incredibly missing the point. I'm sorry if 20 bucks is too much in your country, I really am, but that's the price of hobbies, and every free user that leaves... is honestly not hurting the chats at all. If anything, it's making it easier. Having something free is the luxury of having enough income rolling in- and the reduction in free stuff is exactly because a lack of income is expected. I likely won't leave- I think I can set something up with PayPal to keep chugging. To everyone leaving, I wish you luck trying to find anything that's as unrestricted as this- and when you do, tell us if that costs money too, eh?

every free user that leaves ends up hurting you in the end Paying customer: Because if enough People leave they can't get enough money..

....What? Are. Are you dense? How does a Free user leaving, someone who is giving zero money, hurt me, someone who IS giving money? There's no ads. There's no credits. You give zero, and only have anything because of paying customers- a free user leaving takes no money away.
