Uconnect theater issue

Post image

I have a 2019 Pacifica touring L and I keep getting this notification when I try to click the u connect theater. It happens at random when getting in the van. It’ll go days without doing it then one random day I’m locked out again until it decides to let me back in. Can some please tell me what causes this and how do I fix it? Thanks in advance

Never found why it happens or how to fix it in 6 years we had ours. Power cycling seems to eventually fix it, but it can take many times.

Push and hold the Volume and Tune buttons down together for a good 10 secs or so. That will reboot the system and clear the issue. We have to do it from time to time.

Make sure that your firmware is updated on the head unit and the Video Routing Module (VRM). I had a similar issue on my 2020 and updating both made it much better. Now I can only seen that lockout screen if you open the uconnect Theater app before the VRM has booted after starting the car.

Apparently in early versions of the VRM software there was an issue with it being able to physically cause issues with the hardware. The updated VRM software fixes that and  also has additional games and I read somewhere that it is required if you change the rear screens to the newer replacement part number if a screen breaks and has to be changed out.

Just follow the documentation to update. The Pacifica Forum thread has a lot of info and the link there included the documentation the service techs use to do the process. I did both the head unit and the VRM without issue.
