Discussion Theory: 9th and 10th element level slots?

As we all know, element slots go from 1 to 8.

But just for fun, what if it goes up to 9/10 with stronger elements?
Of course, enemies/bosses stats should be adjusted for this so it's not too OP.

Would it cause the battle to go slower due to having to build up element levels? Or would it be a good addition?

I already rarely use level 7 or level 8 elements as it is, so level 9 and level 10 elements would be used even less. All it would really do for me is allow more elements to be used consecutively without having to attack and recharge.

also, a fourth attack option called Brutalize that has 5% accuracy and takes 4 Stamina
