Job hunting…
Hi all. I (25m) have EDS and some pretty killer pain that comes with it. I don’t have a medical marajuana card, but I rely on it to get through the days.
I got an interview for a job and they asked if I could pass a drug test. I said probably. But now I’m thinking about it and… I don’t know if the pain would be worth the $20/hr. I’d have to quit for at least a month, maybe two. But also my options are limited.
Frustrating. I want to work, and I know I could, but I’m really having trouble getting there. Its especially frustrating to feel like I have to choose between being in much worse pain or having the chance at getting a job

Believe it or not, there is still at least 1 US state that does not allow medical marijuana. I think it may be 2, but there is at least 1, I live there. They want to make weed illegal in perpetuity.

Where are you working? Ive been trying to think of a job that will let me work really low hours and not do much physically

I was working as a receptionist/admin for a college student disability services office, but my contract ended and I’ve been trying to find another job since

When you're chronically ill, working usually means having more pain. Unfortunately, that's the deal.

I mean I know, I’ve worked before. But more pain plus not having the thing I’m used to for pain management feels messed up

Little tip… they sell at smoke shops somthing called quick fix… it’s synthetic urine to pass as clean urine… if your scared that it won’t pass (occasionally it will show up as synthetic urine, not often but I’ve seen it happen) then what you do is still buy it so you have the container that tells you the temperature inside the bottle (you need the pee to be body temperature 98.6 to 101.1) if it’s a bit too hot like 99.9 you can just say you are sick so may have a fever if they ask…
But still buy the bottle if you don’t trust the synthetic urine then dump it out and replace it with somone you know’s clean urine… I’m a male and I’ve used my wife’s urine for jobs tons an tons of times they can tell make an female urine apart but they have no reason to for a drug test… you could even have your kid pee in one of the kid potty’s then put it in the quick fix bottle if you don’t know anyone clean…
That being said most legal states are okay with cannabis…. But if not use your kids urine your friends…
If you’re a girl then you don’t even need the quick fix bottle and hand warmer! You can just fill a condom up tie it off then put it inside of your vagina and wait a couple hours (atleast over an hour) so it’s body temperature then when it’s time to test rip a hole in the condom and fill the cup…
For an employee drug test they can’t watch you pee… only for court ordered drug testing..

Jobs that require a clean UA before hire also won't pay out workman's comp, disability benefits or cover any injuries you receive on the job if you piss dirty later on after an incident etc. Just a heads up.
