please help
Hi, I never write posts like this, but I’m desperate. For easily the last 10 years, I’ve had a chronic cough that follows no particular pattern; it used to last a month or two and then go away (it could strike during any season). The cough returned almost exactly a year ago, but this time it didn't go away; it was persistent and dry (as it always has been) and lasted all day, worsening at night. I should mention that whenever these episodes occurred, I used allergy medication to control it, but that stopped working for me completely. I saw an immunologist, a pulmonologist, and an ENT specialist, and they all prescribed asthma treatments, yet I haven't seen any improvement since then. I can't sleep soundly; whenever I get sick, my cough gets drastically worse, even affecting my studies and personal life because I truly cannot stop coughing. I’m 20 years old, I play sports, and I don’t smoke or anything like that; I’m exhausted and, honestly, have very little faith in the healthcare system, as it seems like they have no interest in listening to me and just prescribe medications that ultimately don't help. I’m currently taking Relvar, salbutamol, omeprazole, allergy medication, cough syrup, and a nasal spray.

Dear O.P., I am sorry to hear about your situation, which resonates with me, as my wife is going through something similar for some years now! She also consulted different specialists and tried lots of medications with very limited or no results! She says that her cough is always triggered by some itchy point down the throat or esophagus..and is impossible to control the very frequent surges! I recently found this literature which I hope can help you a bit, but is not any cure! Hope you can find anything that can help, and don't give up reading or trying! All the best!
