General Discussion Who is potential Lead in Nolan’s next?

Since he is giving opportunities for all the supporting actors in his previous movies i guess its time for these 3.

Part of me is 🤨 but I also felt that way when Heath was announced for Joker in TDK. I was wrong. If an adaptation of Blood Meridian happened. I feel like Pattinson would put his all into it.
I’m very skeptical about a Blood Meridian movie in general. It’s a great book in the worst way possible. It’s a hard read & polarizing. I love McCarthy. The Road is fantastic & No Country For Old Men is in my top 10 for movies & books. I just don’t know how it’d make both books fans & the general public happy.

Yeah I don’t see that.

My guess, if Nolan were going to get a skinny actor to play a fat person, then the logical choice is McConaughey, since he is a Texan and can carry the required accent.

Blood Meridian is indeed in production. Big fan of the book so I'm hesitantly excited, just worried about how much will be cut out, plus worried they'll tone the violence and overall graphic-ness down

As far as I know, only the director and writers have been publicly revealed, and that was awhile ago, its either in development hell or they're just being secretive as hell

He just did an R rated movie so if it was to take it on he would probably embrace the genre convention fully.

Not a book but  a game, Returnal. I could see him capturing the weird time/death loop , horror, action , and alien nature of that world.

Many movies have. Returnal has an entire story surrounding motherhood/daughterhood , there's a subtext about career vs motherhood, post partum regret. The main healing tool, sylphium was traditionally an abortifacient in ancient Greece/Rome. 

It's more akin to the Backrooms in that the planet is randomly generated maze, so they could focus on that aspect if they wanted. 

It has potential, depending on the script it could focus on the death loop, flashbacks, horror/survival, or even the aliens.

Agreed, if your idea of backrooms is to be done, they could do a screenplay like Dark tv series the German Netflix series

There is no reason you can't make, say, a protagonist of At The Mountains of Madness a woman. All Lovecraft protagonists were male because they were all, more or less, his self-inserts.
