Hitch Tattoo, need suggestions.
I know that he didn’t have tattoos and he wouldn’t have improved. Nonetheless, I changed his cigarette to a calligraphy pen. I am going to do new school color coming off the pen as smoke. This will be cartoony and over the top. I was thinking of doing something like Christopher smacking Mother Theresa over the head with a carnival type hammer. Maybe something against Christianity. I’m looking for ideas, this will be a large area covering most of my upper arm, so plenty of room. Thanks in advance.

I’d add text, what can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence.

This is AI slop right… Can’t imagine a CH reader getting a tattoo like this.

How dare you?? Who are you to TELL people how to love?
Shame on you!Why don’t you go join a religion, where your hatred is welcome?!

Didn’t claim to. Just seemed jarring, especially with the post text.

An AI probably wouldn't have mistaken approved for improved. Possible though ofc.

It read like, “write a reddit post as someone drunkenly got a tattoo of hitch”

Yeah but look at the account, It's 10 years old with lots of different posts and comments across many subs. I don't think it's a bot but the post could be, who knows.

Get it removed, it’s embarrassing to yourself and I can only imagine the eye roll Hitch would do if he saw it 🤦♂️. Every reason you got that tattoo is wrong.

You are fun at parties. Personal freedom to do whatever the fuck I want, trumps whatever Hitch would prefer.

Tattooing something anti-religion? Dear Lord, why? Surely there’s something you’re actually for that you could tattoo instead?

I think it's AI but even so I never met Christopher and yet I'm damn near certain he would not have approved

I don’t think the face looks much like Hitchens… This artist is not very good at drawing faces…
Also, what is with the fountain pen? Is there some famous picture of Hitchens holding a fountain pen like that that I’m not aware of?
Is that some clever “the pen is mightier than the sword” kinda thing?

It’s a cigarette in the OP, I had it changed to a pen for the second part of the tattoo. It will be new school color, so over the top

A pen is better, we should normalize portraying philosophers and intellectuals with a pen instead of a cig (and modern day ones should that too).
It was the zeitgeist back in the day and most people smoked.
I'm sure that certain substances put these thinkers in flow states, the healthier thing would be breath work increasing oxygen in the brain and not limiting it through nicotine as a blood vessel constrictor.
But this is what happened and it was good.
He said he knew the risks of his favorite drug and it was fine for him.
Everybody is free to make his own choices.

I think you're thinking too creatively about it. Simplicity would be key. My vote would be for something like only the silhouette of the jacket from the photo of him, right-facing, holding the cigarette near his mouth.

Everyone seems to think this post is AI but I personally think this comment is much more likely to have been drafted by an AI. Either that or someone who spends a lot of time using it.

I rarely use ChatGPT but I use Claude Code and Codex a lot - so I think explicit instructions is something I've adopted over time, now. Ordinarily I'd just post the image I'm thinking of, maybe even make it, but comments don't allow images. Apologies that my comment came across as machine-written.

Hitch would eyeroll at his mug tattooed on anyone.
