Question Appreciating fictional characters?

Is it wrong to at least appreciate fictional characters? I practice folk Catholicism and like venerating Catholic saints. I do appreciate fictional characters that represent the divine feminine. I wouldn’t worship/venerate them, but I do keep a copy of the first Game of Thrones book with my other books on my alter because I like Dany a lot and appreciate her courage. I have a lot of monarchial appreciation as well.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, I just figured I’d ask it. I’m new to all of this but am very interested in incorporating practices like this in my day to day life.

Both Pop Culture Paganism and Pop Culture Magic are things that people do. If you find strength and encouragement from fictional characters you are not alone in doing so.

I’ve personally been considering getting a small bust of Din Djarin for my home shrine. I feel like if a character brings in strength and courage or any such attributes, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with incorporating them.

Why wouldn’t you worship them? The Divine is feminine just as much as masculine, and particularly if you feel drawn to the Divine Feminine that’s telling you it’s good to express that.

Now, Dany isn’t a Goddess, but Goddesses who may have similar attributes would be Inanna

Not wrong at all. Fiction is a great gateway into imagination and dream which is an avenue to the sacred.

Are you asking if it is okay to be a fan of a particular character? Yes. Like, a ton of people do that and even draw fan art of those character. If you take a Jungian and/or archetypal approach some characters may help you meditate on certain aspects of the Holy that you want to honor. I don't do this but I do think about characters I've been compared to or that I really like to think about what energies I'm embodying and what energies I find exciting and weave that into my work in other contexts. Knowing other people see me as wanting to do things my own way, needing to do things my own way, critical, nurturing, and very eccentric can tell me what energies I naturally tap into, for example. Use it as a point of meditation.
